[squeals]

A. [You poor unfortunate soul. Somehow, Rise has dragged you out with her to go shopping. Any by that, we mean Rise will be doing all the shopping and you will be carrying all the bags for her. Hopefully you don't have too much in your hands right now because it looks like Rise is currently contemplating another purchase.

She looks through the racks of clothing, pushing hanger after hanger to the side, pulling out one every once in a while to see whether it was something she would really wear. It takes some time but her entire face lights up when finally finds a dress that's to her liking. She takes it out of the rack and holds it up for a moment.]

How about this one? It's kinda cute, right?

[Holding the dress onto her, hanger and all, so you get a better look.]

B. [The usually chipper Rise opens the video with a pout on her face, and her chin resting on her hands. A bored Rise is definitely not a good Rise.]

You know, I'm starting to think that this place is as boring at Inaba sometimes.

[At least she had her friends back home to hang out with... which made things less boring.]

If someone knows of something fun to do around here, I'm totally open to suggestions.

[Sigh. The things you agree to for a friend. She'd rub her forehead in frustration, but her hands are a bit full at the moment. Thanks for that, by the way.]

I still don't think I'm the sort one would wish to consult regarding such matters, you know.

[squeals]

[Rise looks up from the dress to Naoto with a pout on her lips.]

Besides school and working on the case, we don't really spend a lot of time together, Naoto-kun. This just so happens to be my way of changing that.

I'm not objecting to that. It's the reason I agreed to come along in the first place.

[Granted, coming out dressed like this is a bit awkward, but with more free time of late, she was happy to join her, and her smirk indicates as much.]

I just don't have any strong opinions where fashion is concerned, I'm afraid.

[squeals]

Who else do you expect me to ask? The saleslady?

That seems fairly logical, yes. I suspect she should be knowledgeable in this area. [She turns to the nearest sales associate.] Pardon me, miss, but could you assist us for a moment?

[squeals]

[Of course Naoto would go with the logical route. Before the saleslady is able to reply though, Rise reaches out to grab Naoto's wrist. Then a quick glance to the the woman her friend had call to.]

Oh, it's nothing! Don't worry about us.

[She pulls Naoto aside and speaks to her in hushed tones. It looks like Rise will need to teach you a thing or two about shopping.]

You're not supposed to ask them what they think. They're the worst people to ask!

Because they'll attempt to sell us something we don't want, correct? [She may not know fashion, but she's well educated on the basic tenets of capitalism.] I'm fairly confident in my ability to keep the conversation reined in, if that's your concern.

[squeals]

[While it's a bit of a surprise to hear Naoto say something like that, Rise doesn't falter or drops her stance on the matter. This is supposed to be her forte after all.]

I don't doubt that you can't but it's probably better to avoid asking them anyway. If she's a really good clerk, we might be walking out of here with more than just this dress.

<sub>[How did he even get dragged into this? Oh, right. It's all his own fault, because he just wouldn't be himself if he said no. Then again he never imagined it will look like this.

So right now Ruca is holding all of Rise's bags, wondering silently how much longer this will take. He isn't going to complain though. Rise seems to be having fun, so he couldn't bring himself to complain no matter what.

The question makes him blink though. He's really not the right person to ask.

An awkward smile appears on his face and he nods hesitantly, obviously unsure what to say.]</sub>

[The smile does little to convince Rise, Luca. You may be cute but she takes fashion quite seriously.]

Really? You're not just saying that?

_{[He's failing so much at this. Sigh.]}

Well, I guess I believe you.

[Okay, maybe his cute awkwardness does work on her a little. She gives him a small smile, hoping that it's at least a little reassuring.]

I trust your opinion over any other guy's anyway, Ruca-kun.

_{[Oh, now he's blushing while looking down at all these bags he's holding. She trusts his opinion, but so far he hasn't said anything helpful at all...]}

B-but... I'm not sure you should. I... don't know anything about fashion...

[squeals]

[Hmm, how can she turn this around so she can see what he really thinking about the dress. With a finger pressed against her lips, she dwells on this for a moment.]

Even if you don't know anything about fashion, you have to tell me what you think okay?

[She repeats her earlier gesture, holding the dress to her once more.]

What does this dress do for me? Does it make me look too skinny? Too short?

Okay.

_{[Then he makes a thoughtful look, as if he's trying to find an answer for an exceptionally difficult question.]}

...No... I think it looks alright, but... maybe if it was in a different color...

[squeals]

A different color, huh? [She studies the dress for a moment then looks back at Ruca.] Do you think blue might be better?

_{[He nods with a smile this time.]}

I think so!

_{[It's not like he just likes blue or something.]}

[All Natsuru wanted was to buy a new pair of jeans. Just her luck that she'd run into Rise... before she knew it, the petite girl was dragging her from shop to shop, asking for opinions and making use of the extra set of arms.

Natsuru doesn't mind spending time with friends, or even new acquaintances, but this is starting to push it a little! Still, she's too polite to actually say anything of the sort to Rise.]

Um... yeah, I think that'd look really cute on you!

[She says that a lot, though... because she honestly believes it, but still. It's a pattern.]

[squeals]

[It's been like this for the past hour they've gone shopping that Rise can't help but narrow her eyes as soon as the words leave Natsuru's lips.]

Really? Are you sure about that?

[Oh... does Rise not think it looks good? Natsuru really trusts Rise's judgment far more than she trusts her own, but what else can she say other than what she really thinks?]

Definitely!

[A very confident answer! ... Followed by a slightly less confident qualifier.]

I mean... you look cute in a lot of things, so...

[... That was the wrong thing to say, somehow, wasn't it? She can't help it that Rise is... Rise! Or that Natsuru herself only has several months of learning to understand fashion to work with.

But then... a miracle happens. Giving Rise another quick once-over look, she tilts her head a bit and adds:]

Maybe something a little shorter? I think... someone told me once that showing more leg makes them look longer...? And if it's too much, you can wear leggings or something under it...

[Almost the second she's finished with that, she suddenly looks a little panicked. She's never given fashion advice like that before... she has no idea how Rise will react!]

[So what if he's a glorified pack mule right now, this is exactly what Yosuke needs. He's out with a friend, a super-special one at that, and it's refreshingly reminiscent of a normal life back before all this interdimensional whoserwhatsery.

So Yosuke will carry them bags, however many pile up.]

Hey, yeah! I bet that'd look really good on you!

[He'd say the same of a burlap sack, but he's being honest.]

[squeals]

[She will definitely agree that it was nice being out with one of her friends from home.

And yet she couldn't help but feel a little skeptical about his reply. If it were someone else, she might've believed them but she knew all too well that Yosuke had been a fan of Risette even prior to them meeting. For all she knew, he could be complimenting her so he doesn't get on her bad side.]

Why do I feel like you're just saying that, Senpai?

[She rolls her eyes a little but it's meant as a playful gesture more than anything else.]

[Yosuke would never call her ugly. Ever. The most he'd ever go as far as to say is that some things look better than her on others, but hey, that's as harmless a comment as it comes, right? All the same, he kind of saw this teasing coming, and he's slightly freaking out anyway. At least he contains it to an innocent-looking grin and a shrug of his bag-laden shoulders.]

Who, me? I'd never just say that you're super-cute, you know I mean it!

[...Yeah, so, he's still not entirely over his Risette Fanboy days.]
