Izaya confuses her. She has never really dealt with someone like him before. The person that comes closest is Reina, a high school girl that went to America to study for a year and got held back a year due to time differences or something. (It's slightly confusing. OTL) And she's kind of bipolar. Acting really happy and cutesy then being slightly terrifying to Hiyori at least. Plus she's pushy. They're classmates though. They don't/won't (I think) ever live together. Izaya is a guy who is living with her so that throws that comparison sideways a bit.

Plus that nickname, while cute, is really close to her best friend's nickname so she's kind of @.@. It seems rude to ask him to stop... Even if it is overly familiar. Also it's different than her past nicknames so she's curious why he picked it. XD

BUT. He seems really nice which is good. Even if he is confusing.

For her the big thing is just shbdsfjlbnsdgnjl!!!??!! stabbing and fighting what!!!!!!!! With Shizuo. Stabbing people is not normal and her mind should never be. So she's really confused and concerned about that. Because ahhhh. D:

Plus she is a little frustrated that he tried calling all that fighting playing. Which in less rude terms to Hiyori is flat out bullshit. That is past pg-13 into STOP NOW LAND.

Even with all that she does like him though.

HE. is honestly surprised this kid has managed to live as long as he has; but considering robert p much thinks every situation a die-hard survivalist one... that's not all too surprising. he's definitely naive (very, very much so) and he realizes he's probably easily manipulated (like.. how he sort of did to him already, ha. ha)... he wants to watch over him, somewhat, but at the same time he sees this more as a personality weakness that can only be righted by nai himself.

basically, torn between thinking he's super pathetic and not worth fretting over beyond polite conversation, and thinking he's super pathetic and probably in need of his protection. then there's always the possibility this is some extremely elaborate ruse.

CRYBABY. that was his first impression. he still definitely thinks that, but it's not to the point where it'd ruin any social interaction since she does calm down pretty quickly -- he's surprised by her general boldness when it comes to speaking with him though; after all of that destruction, he thought she'd at least be afraid of him or too shy to say anything that might set him off on another rage tangent! this is a huge relief to him, he appreciates it so much and he has a lot of respect for her even if they haven't talked a lot.

he's still frightened he's going to hurt her though, so if he's standoffish or curt to her, that's why -- she seems like a delicate enough girl. he gets along well with her though, i can see their father-daughter dynamic becoming really really cute erjngkjengk, but overall shizuo thinks she's a kind little girl with a big heart and an annoying streak of telling him and izaya what to do. he still doesn't know how he's going to survive that deal...

he'll protect hiyori with his life though, so if anyone messes with her, back the fuck up HAHAHA.
