ok hiruma. there's really no way to sum this up other than complete hatred. the guy p much embodies all he dislikes in people... and considering all he dislikes in them, that's. a fucking lot of dislike. did that even make sense probably not.
unfortunately, he realizes him and hiruma may be a bit more alike then he would care to admit. for example, their first conversation. extortion, blackmail, threats, all those fun synonyms are basically the only way to get people to do as they like; something they can agree on. they both kind of have a jaded view of others, i think? that, and there's the extreme distrust. hiruma's isn't to the point of... robert's level of distrust, but it's enough that it's notable. because robert automatically expects the worst from people and hiruma delivers just that, it's an interesting rivalry, to the say least. i'ts not something he often partakes in, consideingr he (obvsly) just. eliminates any competition permanently. holly heights does not allow for such a thing. he weeps inwardly. and then he has to step up his game, because hiruma is SMART AS ALL HELL and has clearly been doing these kinds of things for a while, whereas robert... only takes a more direct, permanent approach. it's like a college level problemsolving class of the most boring variety, and he's never had any introduction to it. shit sucks.
at the same time. hiruma, when he's had the chance, hasn't killed him. this frustrates and confuses him immensely. like what the fuck man. that's not how this game works, what are you even dOING. also, protecting his daughter like that-- or at least, stepping in. WHAT IS GOING ON. HOW CAN HIRUMA NOT BE A COMPLETELY TERRIBLE PERSON. of course, he'll cling to that notion forever as he prefers to see things in black and white, but it's still.. unsettling, maybe. just not quite unsettling enough for him to actually pay attention much to it.
