[You do not expect to walk around with skeletons just hanging about. That is just a fact of life that does not ever need to be changed for any reason. Except here Shinya is, walking around with skeletons. She's doing her hardest to avoid contact with any of them, arms pulled tightly to her body as she practically tiptoes around, even avoiding eye contact with them as she looks down at the ground.

But this is her first mistake, because it doesn't let her keep an eye on any that might be following right behind her, because there is in fact one trailing her. It's not until she feels a bony arm on her shoulder that she panics.]

[And she snaps, an arm swinging to take a smack at the skeleton to try and push it away.

Or more like the skeleton snaps because she lands a strike right up at the skeleton's head, and the skull goes flying.]

it's not unusual to hear the sound of people practicing in the batting cages late at night at the hhsc. baseball is the second-most popular sport around, currently, but this person in the batting cage is a little different than any of the others. for starters, she's an adult.

also, she's a girl. said girl is maria momoe, who's hitting hardball pitches because it's a good stress relief, and there's nothing more stressful than being ( clang!) kidnapped ( clang! ) when your team ( clang! ) is in the middle of a very, very important tournament -- ( CLANG!! )

the last hit momokan makes hits the back wall of the cage and she steps back, tipping the batting helmet off her head and staring after it for a second with her brows furrowed. she needs to get that documented properly to bring it back home when she gets back to nishiura, and momokan drops the bat and moves over to turn off the machine, muttering something to herself as she checks the settings. ]

2. relaxation, maybe
[ as strange as it is to not be with the nishiura nine at the moment--or with shiga-sensei, or with just about anything that's familiar to her--it's easy to rely on the same tactics they use to relax when she is, um. less than relaxed. temper bubbling since she's arrived, momokan's taking this quiet moment to sit and meditate, her hands folded in her lap, sitting on a bench outside and taking a couple of deep breaths. everything is fine. the nishiura nine are probably fine.
