Ah, the shameless (shameful?) classic. Happy holidays, Holly Heights.

How it works:
➜ Your character is going about their business when suddenly... oop, mistletoe.
➜ Double oop, someone else walked under at the same time.
➜ Maybe this is usual mistletoe and they can just joke about it and awkwardly shuffle off.
➜ Oooooor maybe it's cursed mistletoe and they can't leave until they kiss each other.

You stopped there by accident, right? No one was at fault.

[ It's better to put it that way when there could be Tokiya's listening. Once they were clear of the dreaded plant, Syo let her go, stepping back. That would be enough so that she was't in danger anymore. ]

No one else has tried to get you to kiss them, right?

_{[ Unsuspecting Haruka was standing under a doorway with mistletoe underneath it, though luckily, she hadn't been caught quite yet by anyone strange. She didn't know it was above her as she had been pretty oblivious to it this entire night.

She did notice Natsuki in the distance maybe talking to someone or doing his own thing, but she thought she made eye contact and then decided to wave at him. Obviously, that wave meant she wanted to just say hello, but it was also like it was an invitation to come over, and well...she might have not done that had she known what was above her. ]}

Shinomiya-san! Hello...I wanted to ask if you knew why everyone was acting strange today?

_{[ She had probably seen a few people kiss here and there under doorways, but she didn't make the connection just yet. ]}

Y-Yes...but--

_{[ She still felt like it was all of her fault since she should have been more aware of her surroundings. Haruka really should work on that personality trait of hers some more... ]}

N-Not like that, I mean...Jinguji-san--it happened with him too. I-Is that bad?

_{[ At least Ren didn't force her to kiss him or anything like that, but then again there was also that red-haired boy (Naruko) who approached her before Syo came to rescue her again. ]}

[she pouts even as she leans into the warm touch of his hand on her cheek.] You don't have to flatter me. I'm already going to kiss you.

Ah, it's okay! I wasn't really paying attention either! [for someone so observant when they're playing basketball, she can be a bit of an airhead.] I'm fine! Did you drop anything? I'm so sorry.

[a delighted giggle.] Thank you, little knight. I'll make sure to call on you if I'm ever in danger.

[she blows him another kiss and winks as she walks away. what a cutie, that was totally worth it.]

[oh. my god.] Do you live under an actual, literal rock? It's mistletoe. The plant you have to kiss under.

[WOW NO. makes a grab for his phone.] Please don't harass my boyfriend.

[So much for all that initial aggression.]

[Mumbling the latter part.]

[ that's it haruichi has been laid low by this amount of affection and this many kind words. he's already flustered while she's staring at him and the smile makes it even worse, gives him a terrible skip of his heartbeat and makes him feel the urge to bury his face in his hands. her smile is infectious even in his total embarrassment, and haruichi willingly goes into the hug she gives him, more or less a limp doll as he tries to get over how flustered he is. the movement makes his bangs mostly fall back, but his right eye's still visible, although he's closed them now to try and calm down his never-ending fluster.

the kiss makes him jump a little too--his eyes snap back open and he almost wobbles a little, but haruichi's going to his best and not pass out from his first kiss with a girl, so he reaches over with shaky and trembling fingers to put his hands on her cheeks, so if he's keeping hajime safe from bad luck, at least she can enjoy it too. besides, he's pretty thankful for her in general--even though she can be a little overwhelming, haruichi sees hajime with an enormous amount of affection and warmth.

he didn't really mind her moving his bangs all that much, in the end, and he's not minding the sweet little kiss, either. ]

[ yes... it is a Problem... ]

[ Tokiya may or may not have noticed the mistletoe - but she was right, he was never social at parties and chose the doorway to lurk in silence away from everyone else and the pesky requirement of talking to people. ]

Nanami-san? It's fine. [ Yeah, he's fine. But he's happy to see her, even if he doesn't show it. ] Thank you for your concern.

[ it was easy enough to seek out chiyo to chat with at this party--haruichi's really fond of his friend and finds her easy to talk to, even if she's currently being a little embarrassing with her compliments. he's about to deny what she's saying, it's just practice, and i'm not really good, i'm working on it, but the abrupt stop catches his attention too. ]

Ah--are you okay, Chiyo-chan? [ he watches her hand hit off the wall with minor confusion from behind his bangs, and then reaches out to do the same: sure enough, his hand is stopped before he can reach past it. haruichi frowns, trying to figure out what the cause could be, and he looks left, right...and then up.

...oh.

instantly, haruichi starts to color red, from his cheeks across his nose and down his face slowly. ] Um...Chiyo-chan. [ gestures...up ]
