Ah, the shameless (shameful?) classic. Happy holidays, Holly Heights.



How it works:
➜ Your character is going about their business when suddenly... oop, mistletoe.
➜ Double oop, someone else walked under at the same time.
➜ Maybe this is usual mistletoe and they can just joke about it and awkwardly shuffle off.
➜ Oooooor maybe it's cursed mistletoe and they can't leave until they kiss each other.
➜ Good luck with that!

[ mistletoe is an altogether embarrassing experience and one haruichi would like to generally avoid once he'd learned of its existence--he's not really interested in kissing anyone (well, maybe someone) and the idea of it is horrifically embarrassing. so, he's deftly avoided doorways and windows and most everything, until he got a little caught up in talking to hajime and here he is.

under the mistletoe.

haruichi tries to take a step forward and finds himself rebuffed, and it's all he can do to not almost pass out as he looks over at hajime with his mouth open. ] --um.

[ um, haruichi? really? ]

[Hajime didn't seem to notice right away. She always enjoyed spending time with Haruichi when they both could meet up, so this time was no different then any of those. Or at least until she notices a change in his demeanor and her gaze trails upward. Bingo! She even raises a hand to point towards it]

Ohhhhh! So is this what's got your attention?

[She steps forward and leans up stand on the tips of her toes, reaching up to try and grab it. Though she is much too short. Even jumping twice just gives further proof of that. Eventually she leaves the mistletoe be and looks back to the pink-haired baseball. Hajime just smiles~ warmly!]

Haru-channnn~♫ Do you know about mistletoe?

[ it's pretty hard not to find hajime jumping endearing (mostly because haruichi's been in the same situation, too stubborn to get a chair or ask for help and thus ending up, for example, halfway inside seido's laundry machines to try and dig his uniform out instead of asking for help) and he reaches over halfway to try and steady her in case she falls over, but ends up drawing his hands back when she settles again.

haruichi's getting a weird sense of deja vu.

his cheeks turn bright red and he hunches his shoulders a little. ] Um--a little. It's a Western thing...isn't it?

Mmmhm! I've heard lots of different twist to it too! Like you're suppose to kiss for the number of berries on it or that a man has to kiss the girl and if the girl refuses she gets bad luck!

[ Just a little bit of interesting facts Hajime picked up somewhere, her gaze shifts back to the mistletoe thoughtfully before looking back to Haruichi.]

It's silly---but fun! [She steps closer and leans towards him, smile growing]

Haru-chan, your face matches your hair!

[ as hajime lists all of these different twists, haruichi's eyes flick up to the offending plant that's trapped them again, making a panicked counting of the berries in his head--there are three of them--and very quickly imagining the number of times... oh my.

he's staring up at the berries still when she steps close, and haruichi jumps when hajime speaks up again, feeling himself blush even further at her noticing his embarrassment. oh man... ]

I um--we don't, have to, if you don't want to, Hajime-chan... [ but, his protests falter and he gives up, dropping his face into his hands for a second to try and muffle his blush. ]

Naruko's eyes are NOT on this girl's eyes as he comes up to her.]

Hm? [Hajime blinks to him before waving. She met him once briefly over the network....when she first arrived but that's a hard face to forget!]

Really? Thank you Naruko-san! You're not as loud this time!

[Natsuki may be an idol, but he's hardly forward enough to take advantage of the mistletoe that's suddenly adorned on the ceiling. So when he approaches, it's more-so for a very noble reason.]

Oh, Hajime-chan! You're standing under mistletoe!

Natsuki-san! Hellloo----oh? [She perks instantly only to blink at his words and slowly look above her head. Would you look at that.]

Ohhhh! You're right! I am standing under a mistletoe! You have good eyes, Natsuki-san~!

Not really, actually. It's why I wear glasses. [She didn't mean that seriously...]

But they're very sneaky! I was wondering why people around me were kissing until I looked up! There's mistletoe in lots of places! But then it's the holidays, so I suppose it's normal?

[She's teasing in good nature, giving him a big smile.]

Are they not supposed to be? Um, but I don't mind kisses. My mama gave me lots of kisses when I was little. Elizabeth always does too! Though I've never kissed anyone.

[Kuramochi notices Hajime and is about to approach the other when he notices a mistletoe on top of her head... Uh oh.]

Hey, Hajime-chan? Has that mistletoe been there before?

[ Seeing as it is Kuramochi, Hajime naturally perks and waves to him, bouncing up.]

Mochi-kun! Hello!

[ His question does dawn on her finally though and she glances up at the Mistletoe and uses her raised hand to try and touch it.]

Who knows! Maybe! I think this place has had a lot of mistletoes around.

It's a kinda silly thing to have, I think.

Which...is now on this guy's mind and he's feeling awkward about it. Kissing a cute girl like Hajime...?? Should he take the chance? This is a chance, right?]

[Hajime isn't hesistant at all, she walks closer to him, neverminding the mistletoe that is going to be right above them]

Have you been caught under one before?

["dokidoki," she says. yeah there's that going on, but it's kind of unnerving.

when hajime comes closer to him, though, kuramochi jerks and takes a step back, his face getting red.]

N-no, I haven't been under it, but I dunno if that's a good idea for me to get stuck under one!

[studying the mistletoe does nothing in their favour, as they're still stuck here with no chances of being able to move away from it. at least without doing--it.]

[Hajime's hand shoots up in a waving fashion. She doesn't seem the lest bit put off by this turn of events. If anything, its a treat to see Makoto in general]

I don't think I've ever heard you sound so glum before, Mako-san. You're usually shining super sunny! Shine shine!

[She lifts both her hands by her face and spreads her fingers by it as if to mimic a sun and its rays]

[his mood picks up a bit at that.]

Ah, sorry! It's just that we're stuck here now under the mistletoe. We can't leave it unless we -- well, do something.

[She looks up, blinking before trying to reach up and touch the mistletoe, doesn't even come close]

It's not so bad! A quick kiss with you're friends with isn't the end of the world! [She perks]
