TEST DRIVE FRICK YEAH

TEST DRIVE MEME

WHAT THE FUCK TO DO:

► STEP 1; Post a comment with a character that's not in HH as if they're already in the setting or alternative version, post character who is in HH. Scenarios if you need them!
► STEP 2; Tag around and get a feel for your characters, whether or not you're voice testing or planning to actually app them in!
► STEP 3; Post this all over your plurk and get people to get their big asses in here and force them to app or face the consequences. Oh, and I guess have fun. I suppose that's important, too.

Yes, it's something like that.

[Well, at least she understands that much, and he's grateful for it. The fact he was previously hoping she'd stop and call him something more appropriate to begin with hasn't slipped his mind. But one step at a time, right? Hubert knows if he's ever going to get to stop playing along with the "game" and shift it into their reality as something permanent, he's going to have to take it slow.

That's what Malik meant when he said it would be difficult to tame a stray, isn't it? In addition to making her see his feelings... But he also knows the only ways to approach it are to use "Pascalisms": Turning her own logic back on her so it all makes sense. It's complicated, since trying to figure out what she's thinking is a challenge all its own. One thing at a time, and the first is dealing with talking her out of taking home enough bananas to feed the entire monkey cage at the zoo. And then some.

Buuut, that thought process is being cut short by her interjection. Did she just...? She did, and his face near-instantly flushes red. He can feel the heat, which only doubly embarrasses him right there.]

Hu... Hubby? [He supposes it's appropriate, but hearing it come from Pascal's mouth...] Yes, well... I guess there are fewer terms more appropriate, if you must insist on calling me by anything other than my name.

[Not particularly romantic, but if she suggestion a cute pet name, he's strike it down immediately out of embarrassment anyway. This is enough...

It's better than Little Bro, he guesses.]]

Really? 'Cause I got a bunch more.

[ Pascal's arsenal is surprisingly large, but after three years of traveling and having seen lovebirds no matter where she went, it's not surprising that she managed to pick up a few pet names along the way. granted, she enjoyed the prospect of getting married someday at one point, thanks to Fermat's recent engagement and wedding, but that was still a far-off dream. she still had lots of things to do for Fendel, lots of inventions she needed to get to work on (and finish)-- she didn't have time to settle down just yet.

still, she's been wanting to use some of these for ages, especially since they all teetered on the line between "cute" and "downright ridiculous". ]

Let's see... "schnookums", "honey bunch", "sweetie pie", "goobers", "hot stuff"... [ she takes one final bite of the banana, humming as she tosses the peel over her shoulder. ] I guess there's also stuff like "dear" and "darling", but those're too boring and stuck-up and bleehhhh...

[ she sticks her tongue out for emphasis, reaching behind her to grab yet another banana. she makes a move to peel it, but then... stops. and instead taps the stem against her cheek in thought, almost as though another tidbit had popped up in her brain.

almost as though... she's remembering even more embarrassing pet names. careful, Hubert: it looks like she's going to continue. ]

Those -- Those are all utterly ridiculous! I'm still a respected man of the military, even if our circumstances don't show it. I will not have you calling me things like...

[. . . . . . .]

"Hot... stuff."

[Thinking that is embarrassing, let alone actually saying it out loud, and the way his face flushes a bright shade of pink is probably pretty telling on its own. Stil, if Pascal called him that...

No. It doesn't matter. She'd be saying it for the novelty and not because it was what she genuinely thought of him, and he knows that isn't what he wants. No, it's just embarrassing for her to go on this way, for him especially. He doesn't need to hear any more. Besides...]

Would you stop throwing your banana peels everywhere!? Perhaps you see it fit to be a slob in your own home, but this certainly is not it, and I'll not have you making us both look completely incapable of basic human decency! [Clearly the way to deal with being flustered over her silly pet names is to change the subject completely and yell like a lunatic. Yep.]

[ you'd like it if she called you that For Serious, wouldn't you Hubert.

as a mental note, she decides to remember that "hot stuff" (or any variation thereof) is a suitable petname that would really rustle his jammies should the situation call for it. the thought almost makes Pascal grin That Grin as she nearly busies herself with thinking up some more (because she's a wife now and wives have to do this sort of thing!!!), but for now there are other matters that require her attention.

such as: why the heck is Hubby freaking out over the bananas again. okay so she dropped a couple while she was wandering the aisles: big whoop. but the last one she ate wasn't even considered litter! ]

Aww, c'mon! It's not like it landed on the floor!

[ as she points out, the banana peel she had just tossed was hanging precariously off one of the bananas at the very top of the cart: even if it were to fall, it'd still be within the cart. see? she's not all that incompetent!! ]

That doesn't account for the ones left everywhere else! They left a path directly to you.

[He sighs, very heavily, dropping his face into his palm in exasperation. How can she not see that this is totally problematic? Pascal's inability to recognize these things while being intensely aware of other less pressing matters is almost impressive at times.

Maybe... Maybe if he can bring this around into a mentality she can better relate to, she'd see his point. It doesn't matter that one peel made it into the cart.]

It'll fall on you if someone were to trip on one of these! [He will not admit he was almost one of those victims.] Were someone to get injured, it would be solely you at fault, and that's unacceptable! I won't have such things!

Really?

[ and it's for the first time since she had initially left the display and had been intercepted that Pascal actually peeks around from her loot and... oh. there really is a trail of banana peels left behind, and quite a fair amount too. she was so sure that they landed on the cart like the last one, discounting the thought that most of them had simply been dropped rather than tossed, but...

it even looks like there had been some victims too: at least three of the peels — from what she can see — are squished and crumpled. it's undoubtedly Not Good if there were already victims but since no one besides Hubert had stopped her... ]

Whoa, I thought I tossed 'em all in the pile. When'd they end up on the floor?

[ she honest to goodness sounds baffled. ]

Somewhere between you picking them up and tossing them, I'd imagine!

[He can't help but raise his voice, frustration rising at the situation. He can tell she means what she says, and the fact that he does have a weakness for her good intentions makes it a little more difficult to not cave completely.

Hubert knows he has to stand his ground on this one, though. Even if the bananas are free, and even if she really didn't notice... Someone has to pull in the reins, right? Though now that they were "married," that seems to take on a new meaning entirely.]

I suggest you go back and clean up the mess you've made, and that you stop eating so many damn bananas at once! Or have you forgotten the incident that occurred when you last ate too many at all once?

[Because Hubert sure as hell hasn't. Why exactly does he love her again? Even he's not sure sometimes...]
