because Pascal here knows a thing or two about mechanics. sort of. ok, granted her specialty lies in Amarcian technology, but that doesn't mean that she can't figure out other technologies without a bit of reading up or tinkering. and really, when she sees some poor sap struggling with something (and boy, does that guy look like he's struggling), she can't help but figure out what's what.

Misjudged some shit. I was planning on fixing this up, making it faster and more efficient, but this car isn't the model I figured it was.

[It's not like he's bad with mechanics or anything. He's just never seen a car that wasn't hundreds of years old and at the bottom of an ocean, much less taken one apart to fix it up. He straightens up, fixing his glasses and tugging a rag from his pocket.]

Whatever. Trial and error and shit. I can make it work.

[ halfway through what Dirk was telling her, Pascal was already under the hood (or what was left of it), basically translating everything else he said to "blah blah blahtity blah". she's entirely focused on the remnants of the vehicle inside, completely in awe of what she's seeing. from what she's seeing already, she can only imagine what this thing was capable of...

Wow, you really did a number on this thing, huh? [ she straightens and glances at each part on the ground with a critical eye, working out blueprints and such in her head before speaking up. ]

I could prrrooobably help you out with this, but I'll hafta do some reading up on it 'fore I do. I've never seen anything like this before.

[He watches Pascal get under the hood, crossing his arms. Well okay. A helping hand could be useful. He'd never really had one before, maybe it'll make this go a little faster.]

I've got some books over there--[He points at a few books, open to pages with diagrams of the parts]--And I set my own plans here. [He picks up a blueprint, if it could even be called that. It's a neatly drawn diagram with notes that probably make sense to no one else sprawled all over the page, a few scratched out, a few more with nonsense annotations.] If you really wanna help out, knock yourself out. I wanted to see if adapting it to nuclear power was possible, but I don't even know where the fuck to get shit to make that work. It'd definitely fit the efficiency quota, and hell, it'd be easier to make it faster.
