[ it's not the first time hirato's seen someone who's definitely too young to worry about weapons (it's definitely something pointy) carry one around. no, children from more stable environments are getting more and more rare these days, even here in holly heights. it vaguely reminds him of karasuna with its illuminated streets and the hoodlums that call it their home. they wouldn't think twice about targeting someone this young.

the reason he chooses to approach cannot be entirely attributed to goodwill, but it isn't just out of clinical interest either. ]
