It's stubbornness that keeps her going now, underneath the hot sun; she's been at this for over twenty laps, but she refuses to hurry herself for this ruffian. She walks at a stately pace, her hands clasped in front of her skirt primly.]

How foolish... I won't take part in the affairs of kidnappers and liars.

[ Kazumi nearly drops the tempura shrimp that was halfway to her mouth but manages to recover and beams up at Mami with an expression of what only can be described as reverence. TOMOE-SEMPAI NOTICED HER. She immediately nudges along to make room to Mami to sit down, still beaming at her the whole while. ]

It's a really nice day! Totally perfect for eating on the roof!

[Scenario A]

[Remilia is not, by sight, the sort of person one would expect to find in the a back corner of the gym, viciously attacking a punching bag. A dainty girl, wearing a pink, lace-trimmed dress that she found in the closet this morning, that she took off the hanger and zipped up by herself.

She's here to vent some frustrations, however, and she's doing so with a will. In some ways, though, each blow only frustrates her more. She should by all rights be able to leave this toy in a pile of plastic and stuffing with only a glance, but it's taking everything she's dishing out. Every punch, every body slam, every slash of her dull nails. She'll grow those out, at least. Interrupt the angry ex-vampire?

She won't be ignored easily, either way. The sense of exertion is strange, as well. She's generally fit, but she can feel each blow ringing through her muscles, especially those body slams. When she stops for a break, she turns around and fussily gathers a bead of sweat off her forehead with a fingertip. She settles onto the ground and calls out to whoever's nearest.]

If I asked you to fetch me some water, you would, wouldn't you?

[Scenario B]

[Remilia is used to managing a household. It means that she hosts elaborate tea parties daily, choosing delectable treats and having them presented to her at her leisure. It means that she strolls the garden by moonlight and offers suggestions for new buds. It means that she tells Sakuya what fancy new trinket to buy, and it's in her parlor for her to toy by sunset.

And there is exactly one upside to this place: its resemblance to the outside world means there are many interesting trinkets to be had. She may not have a mansion anymore, but she's determined to bring her house to the pinnacle of luxury.

And with that, there's just one downside: money. She has to earn it herself. She's never really worked a day in her five-hundred-plus years, and it's annoying. In fact, she's barely working now. She's perched on a stool at the cash register, reading manga of all things. But really, what she needs to unwind, not to work. If one approaches her, she'll hold up a finger.]

I'll... hm... be with you in just a moment, is that right?

[ Don't ask why Reimu might be hanging out in a gym. She's got some of her divine abilities, she doesn't need to worry about gaining weight, or needing to be stronger. But she saw a certain vampire, and thought about bothering her. Usually it's the other way around of course. Though there's a little frown, when she realizes that Remilia doesn't necessarily mean a Sakuya which means no snacks.

Still, she's coming to watch Remilia hit that bag, standing there behind her a bit, with her arms over her head. When Remilia asks her for water, Reimu just laughs. ]

You know, just because you're used to it, doesn't mean everyone's just going to do everything for you.

She'll just sit down next to Kazumi once the other girl makes room, and takes out her own lunch.]

[ Shrine maidens should stick together. And since Reimu's the senpai here, that means she gets to use Sanae as she sees fit. That's Reimu's thought process. Well, sort of. She just knows she can get away with it. ]

So, we're shopping together now. [ She states matter of factly. Still not mentioning that this is the first time she's seen Sanae. ]

Ehehe, I guess that makes sense. Papa always used to make mine, but...

[ housedad's not in holly heights. only momentarily distracted from being homesick though at the generous offer, IT LOOKS... SO GOOD. ]

[Just make it sound like you know what you're doing, she's found, and the masses will follow. She sighs softly, supposing that Reimu really isn't most people, even if you expand that idea to include youkai.

Dabbing at her forehead now with handkerchief, she leans back against the punching bag and treats Reimu to a bored glance.]

I'm only trying to adjust to this place, so there's no need to be so blunt. A human with your... abilities... might even understand a fraction of what it's like.

I'm not going to feel bad for you, if that's what you're getting at.

[ Reimu does see Remilia as a friend, but apparently Reimu isn't that nice of a person. But who didn't already know that? ]

If you want someone to do something then you should ask politely. That's what you're supposed to do. [ As if Reimu has ever done anything like that. ]

So there's still a limit to what one can expect from humans, even when you are one.

[She shakes her head, then props her chin in one hand, looking much too pleased with herself somehow.]

I don't think I was being rude, even if I didn't say please. I think I was being quite gracious about it, and you're just lazy. But you know what they say about idle hands...

[As if she's really one to criticize for that.]

It must be difficult for you, not having a maid around doing everything for you, huh?

[ Really, Reimu wishes she had her own maid to do all her cooking and cleaning. She has a lot of work to do, a maid could save her so much time! Except of course, she doesn't do any real work, especially now that she doesn't have a shrine. ]

And I'm not lazy. [ She really believes she's not. ]

[Of course it is! She hasn't done her own laundry in over one hundred years!]

It's lazy if you won't even run a small errand when someone asks nicely. Even a good maid won't just be doing it because it's a job, you know. It's because she understands the fulfillment you get from helping others.

[That is almost certainly not Sakuya's motivation, and she knows it, but it makes her point as far as she's concerned.]

[Alit knits his brow in determination, a look he always tended to adopt when concentrating, and he holds his ground against her first attacks. His weight rolls to the balls of his feet, allowing him to keep a feather light step, barely sinking into the mats as he dances around his opponents moves.

He can take his time with her, fending off the first strike with one arm and brushing it aside. A block here, sharply pivoting there. He still manages to throw in a few feints as well, marking some of the holes in her defense as plainly as if they had been painted in red. He's not just going easy on her, he wants to see if she'll notice, and how she'll respond. He wanted Kotori learn something after all.

When the time is just right, there's a shift in his form, and a spark in his eyes. He moves in, one, two quick steps and brings the left arm up to defend his front and distract from the lightning quick flash of his right fist that sneaks in from below, a jab aimed right at her lower torso. It would be hard to block but if she was fast there was still a chance to dodge.]

[After waking up on the lawn with a sky so blue hovering above, this was where she had landed herself? All that walking, and for what? The keys in her hand jingle. Tess gives the keyring a spin around a finger, lips pursed as she tips her head back to take in the looming sight of the cathedral.]

Never did have the best of luck in these situations. Looks like today isn't going to be any different.

[She's not sure whether she should take a step forward or take one back. Which way was it again to Hell? She knew she should've asked for directions. ]

[It's loud, it's crowded, and it's annoying. She wants out, needs to find an exit, which this place should have many of if there's this many people milling around. Tess prefers malls as she remembers them--rundown, looted clean, signs busted, the shops deserted, everything full of dust and green growing through the cracked tiles where the earth has shifted so much beneath the pavement that it's broken up through the flooring.

She can't remember a time even as a teenager when she had overly enjoyed stepping foot into a place like this, it's no wonder she's not enjoying it now.]

--nothing but a goddamn madhouse in here. Where the hell's the way out?
