They didn't take too much of a fall -- I'm sure it's all fine.[ it's good to see her happy, and while he's usually upbeat, he notices her good mood. ]

Only a little? Then I guess we'll have to do more shopping together. Mother and father think we're quite the dynamic duo on the battlefield, and I guess some tactics there can be applied to shopping, right? I'll have to look over my notes-[he instinctually reaches for his notebook but realizes he doesn't have it. ] Oh whoops, I forgot I left my notes back home. [ he laughs it off. ]

There we go. Where are you off to next? [ he's gotten his stuff in order now, holding onto his bag. ]

[ She's nodded distractedly to most of this while rearranging the few books and other things she's picked up in her bag. It's not to say she hasn't been listening, but she does seem a little taken aback at first, glancing up. ]

Er, well... I haven't really been buying anything. Just looking. It's probably not much fun.

[ Not that she means to blow him off, necessarily, and catches herself after a beat. Turning her head this way and that, she picks a direction and nods toward it. ]

Then we need to remedy that quickly! There's got to be something you want here, right? [ it seems almost so natural for him to be this carefree like he isn't used to the chaos of war. ] It'd be strange if I was the only one buying stuff.

[ he follows her, nodding, carrying his things. ] Wherever you want. It's good just to be able to spend some time with you.

[ It's suddenly a little like having an audience while she window-shops, which is funny since she's had one all along in the form of every shopkeep she irritated by not actually buying anything. Still, she makes sure to at least pause at the window of the first few shops before hurrying on. Just in case. ]

I'm grateful for that much, at least. There wasn't much of an opportunity, back home...

[ That serious crease in her brow appears almost immediately on the mention of home. Even after being here awhile, she's still worried about it. About everything. And everyone. Relaxing takes effort, and she's really no good at it. ]

But now we have a lot of time to go shopping and spend time together, huh? I almost don't know what to do with all this free time. [ he should study to be a better tactician, but he can't help but give into other things as well. ]

Things are really different here, but I'm learning a lot. I wish Mother was here so I could show her all the notes I've been collecting about this place. [ while she worries, Morgan seems like he's so entranced and excited about this opportunity. ] Have you learned how to use a toaster yet? It's like a box that can use a fire tome!

You can always show her when we see her again. I'm sure you'll get the opportunity. I have things to tell her, too.

[ She hopes they'll get the opportunity, is what she means, really. But enough about that. ]

I've never seen such a thing. Where did you find something like that? It uses magic on its own?

[ he nods. ] Yeah! That's why I'm taking a lot of notes. A lot of the things here, I'm not sure Mother would believe they existed or not if I just told her. [ well describing a toaster as using a fire tome, Morgan... ]

Then I should show you! It's in the kitchen, and people here put bread in it. There's also the fridge -- you've seen it in your kitchen, right? It's the really big thing that's cold.
