[ he'll drop it for now, but koujaku can be sure there's a Talk guaranteed to happen soon. ]

Nope. No deal. Besides, you eat at my house all the time. If anyone should be showing gratitude, it's you!

[ even though he looks happy, a flash of worry and doubt crosses his mind when Aoba mentions gratitude. he mostly does things for aoba without expecting or even the other noticing, but he doesn't want aoba to think he's not grateful. he won't talk about it, but he'll make a mental note of it. ]

Oh? [ he says in a teasing manner. ] You make a good argument. [ it seems like aoba has won... or has he!? ] Fine, I'll teach you how, but under one condition. [ he pauses, looking at the car. ] No more practicing alone for now. Is that fair?

[intonation]

[ there's no way aoba thinks koujaku's ungrateful-- it's just that he has to gain some ground somehow, right? and koujaku does freeload pretty often. ]

Got it. [ victory! feeling like he definitely won, aoba grins at him. ] I'll show you what a great driver I can be in no time.

[coiffeur]

Sadly I don't think there's a job opening for a race car driver. [ thank god. ] It's a good time to learn. We really can't drive back home. Even with a car, I end up walking out of habit anyway. [ it shouldn't be too hard to help Aoba out... right? ]

And you don't need to impress me -- I'm sure there's a nice, pretty girl you can show your driving skills off to. [ he might have done this. ] I know you'll be good with enough time and practice. These vintage cars, there's something special about them.

[intonation]

Yeah, there's no way I'd ever get a chance like this on Midorijima, plus I just thought it'd be something to do.

[ he slips into the usual face he makes at koujaku when he mentions things like that. you know, girls and in relation, koujaku's various conquests. ] Is that what you've been doing? Man, you sure are carefree...

There's plenty of things to do here. You should look at the map and see what else you'd be interested in doing, or maybe ask around. [ aka ASK HIM. ]

[ oh he knows that expression. he laughs a little to ease some of the tension. ] Getting to know some of the other residents here isn't a bad thing. Maybe you could make some friends and build allies. [ he had to gather information on this place somehow. ] When I first arrived here, I was just as lost as you, but some other residents here helped me out.

[intonation]

...it doesn't feel right. [ and jeez mom he can take his car out for a spin if he wants to!! ]

I know that. It's not like I haven't met a lot of people already either. [ even if koujaku says that, he can't help but feel that his number one priority should still be getting back home to midorijima. ] Besides, I've got you to help me out too, right?

This whole thing? I know. Just be on alert and trust your instincts. [ he trusts Aoba enough, and well, if something were to happen he'd be there no matter what and do whatever he could. ] Even after spending time here, many of the Landlord's motives are a mystery.

[ don't worry, Aoba, he's secretly taking care of all that. ] Of course. You asking to hangout sometime soon?

[intonation]

That too, but I just feel like-- like I shouldn't be enjoying myself while there's so much stuff I should be doing back home.

[ koujaku, man of mystery. he should learn to delegate once in a while. ] Unless you're planning to teach me how to drive over the phone, yeah.

[coiffeur]

[ he knows that feeling, and tries to give a reassuring smile as he puts a hand on Aoba's shoulder again. His voice and face look serious, but there's empathy to them both. ] I know, but you don't have to punish yourself for something you didn't have a choice in. You'll get back home, I promise.

[he removes his hand again and looks a lot more upbeat. ] Got it. Maybe after the lesson we can go get something to eat at this one café as a reward for our hard work.

[intonation]

[ koujaku's words lift his spirits a little, but you know aoba's probably going to be thinking about it later tonight while he's lying in bed anyway. ] You're right. Thanks, Koujaku.

[ he raises his eyebrows. ] A café? It must be good, if you're suggesting it.

[coiffeur]

[ what a relief! hearing Aoba say that, he's glad Aoba not only told him how he was feeling but that he could help. ] You're welcome, and if you ever need to talk, I'm here for you. [ more than Aoba will ever probably know, but he doesn't do this for attention, praise, or thanks. ]

The Honeybee Café. Most things are little bit too sweet for me, but their savory dishes are good. Not to mention the environment there is very welcoming and relaxing. Being a little spoiled never hurt anyone, I think.

[intonation]

[ ... he knows that, but it's pretty embarrassing to say anything else about it, so let's just leave it at that. ]

It sounds kind of... [ weird name, but he won't knock it until he tries it. ] What, are you going to spoil me by treating me there then?

More like I'm going to spoil myself after working hard in helping you learn how to drive better. [ he laughs a good couple of times. teasing aoba is the best way to make the mood less serious okay. ] But sure, you probably will deserve something nice at the end of the day.

We'll see about who pays or if we split the bill even. [ super secret, he'll probably end up paying. ]

[intonation]

Hey, you never know. I might be a natural. [ uhm probably not though considering what they're standing in front of. ]

It'll be my treat. [ nope!! ] Sure, it's not a home-cooked meal, but a meal's a meal.

Unawakened natural, huh? [ his eyes look at the car. ] Maybe it's in a deep sleep.

Oh? Then I'll work to my best to help you. Even if I do prefer the home cooked meal, it's still a generous gift I'll graciously accept. [ just wait until Aoba sees the cute girls there whoops. ]
