[ And guess who is standing in front of Ryuko there off to the side, with her shadow hovering over her? It's Ayano. ]

I really like your pajamas! Those bunnies are really cute. [ What else is cute? That stray dog. Ayano crouches down, reaches out to pet it and lets out a little laugh as it licks her hand. ]

[ A big improvement to the shadow she's used to having over her. Ryuko casually glances up, then immediately turns bright red — somehow, in the midst of all her running around, she'd completely forgotten about the pajama situation. ]

Ah— [ On the other hand, it was a compliment, and she's already in a better mood thanks to the dog. She manages to keep her reaction to a mild stammer. ] ... Thanks, but this isn't normally what I'd walk around in. I just didn't wanna waste time getting changed.

It must be comfy, though! Are you out on a walk?

[ If it's okay with Ryuko, Ayano's gonna plop herself down next to her on the curb and play with the dog's paws. For a little while, she's just trying to get the dog to give her a handshake ]

Not really. I mean, I'm walking, but... I'm looking for someone. [ But nobody seems to know who Satsuki is, so for once, she doesn't start yelling about her right away. An actual miracle. ] I didn't think it'd take this long. Guess I'm lucky it's not cold, huh? [ Midriff-baring pjs aren't exactly the warmest clothes going around. ]

I'm sure you'll find them! When the person you want to find is ready to be found, they'll show up.

[ She nods, like she's sure that's the solution to Ryuko's search. Ayano looks back to her, tilting her head. ]

It's like - if you can keep on walking, at some point you'll have walked into the person you're looking for, right? Determination, I guess?

[ A laugh, and a little bark from the dog. He agrees too, it shows in how much that tail is wagging. ]

[ ... You know, she's not even going to question the dog joining in. She's too used to Guts doing the same thing. ]

Oh, I'm gonna do more than just walk into her. Do you think a broken nose looks better if it's leaning left, or right? [ She'll pick the one that looks worse. ]

Wait, why would she have a broken nose?

[ Ayano get with the program Ryuko is trying to be TOUGH ]
