Brows raised, she can't help but laugh. "Ah, is that so? I suppose we're the same in that regard, as well. I suppose if I fought against that choice, I could have become something different. I'm a little stubborn, though."

She wonders about his specific situation, but she won't pry. She wouldn't want someone doing that to her, either.

"If you are not busy, I'll treat you to something. Coffee or tea. Lunch, if you've not eaten. I'll tell you what I know -- or at least what comes to mind. I cannot promise you'll find any comfort in any of it or any use for the information." It would be nice if she could find use for it. Maybe given more time it would be a puzzle she could put together.
