[ miyuki cheerfully waves at the customer as they leave, before turning towards the shelves again. the little bookshop is chock full of fairy tale anthologies, picture books--everything miyuki has ever dreamed of reading. as a result, she jumped into helping. she's taking note of all the books now, before spotting someone lingering in the aisles. ]

Oh! Hi, hello! Are you looking for something? All the fairy tales in this section are super ultra happy!

[And poor Onoda is scared out of his wits. The book in his hand goes flying and his knee goes right into a shelf, knocking a good stack onto the ground.]

Ow, ow, ow! [That will probably bruise a little but MORE IMPORTANTLY Onoda drops to the ground and starts picking up those books!!]

I wonder if they still have the limited edition in stock. [ A frown. ] They ran out before I could pre-order, ooh... [ A smile again. ] But they should have it here!

[ Then, she faces you, the person next to her, and blushes. Rather that looking embarrassed, she seems... excited!? ]

[Rosalia's come to the supermarket with a few ideas for dinner in mind and the intent to try shopping around, but there's an awful lot of food around here. An awful lot of people too.

It's a little overwhelming, and all of a sudden she's acutely aware that she's never been here without her father before. But...well, she's here. Rosalia grips her shopping basket tightly and stares up at the shelves.]

Um--cereal. Right.

[What cereal did you get? Cheren's got no idea. None of the brands here are like the ones he had back home, just like most things. But that doesn't mean he's not willing to help out, even if Rosalia was just talking to herself.]

They might not have the same brands you're used to here. There's probably something similar, but why not try something new?

[ a. the high school/the pool

When you've spent the last few years hopping worlds and fighting shadows, high school is actually really boring. One might think a return to normal life would be preferable, a chance to rest. Maybe if Sora was back on Destiny Islands.

So Sora isn't technically skipping out on class. He's interacting with nature as a form of personal enrichment more valuable than the absolute gibberish his teacher was lecturing! Totally. He had made an attempt to get something out of it before wondering off, at least.

Which is what finds him napping under a tree in probably the most visible area of the school, apparently not bothered in the least by the sunlight right on his face or the risk of an actually competent teacher finding him.

Alternatively he's managed to make it a block away from the school to the pool, nonchalantly hanging out on the edge with his bare feet kicking in the water.

If he can't have Destiny Islands and its beaches, the pool is the next best thing! ]



[ b. the housing area.

Some time later in the day, Sora is planted smack dab in the middle of his yard, surrounded a variety of items like wood, rope, and fishing line. It looks like he's trying to some kind of human-ish figure together, thought it's pretty crude.

It looks nothing like one just yet, but if one waits long enough, it'll slowly become clear that he's trying to put together some kind of wooden dummy. Or scarecrow. It could be either, really, intentions aside.

If he notices someone passing by, he's likely to wave them over, far too cheerful as he does so. Help him wind some line and make some arms? ]

[Oh, that's curious. Rosalia's just passing by in the street, but as prompted she stops and leans over to check out Sora's work.]

[That's the only warning you get before a very pink girl hurries past you, stooped low and gathering several apples that are rolling down the street. She might bump into you slightly in her haste to catch them all as they start to gain momentum.]

[ the apples rollin' a roll down the street catch his attention. though jake's only able to catch two when he bends down to pick them up, he can piece two and two together when a girl comes running in not too far behind. ]

[ wow, that's a lot of pink doe. that just ain't right jk. jake gives the apples a good brush on his green henley before making an underhand-throwing motion at the girl. heads up ] Better chase after the rest of 'em.

a. the shopping gate
[A small boy who looks about high school freshman-age is standing like a tourist in the middle of the shopping gate. He is holding a large, folded map that's wider than he is. He lowers it, looks over the buildings in front of him with much distress, and then lowers his eyes to his map as he walks left.

He is very, very lost, and he's about to run into a fire hydrant. Do you help him, or watch and laugh? He is wearing glasses, though...]

b. altaciere high school
[Some weenie is standing outside of the school entrance with a small cloth bag full of flyers. He stands in the middle of a river of students, and you're the next person he offers a flyer to.]

[Did you expect him to say the anime club? Or something that wasn't a sport? He looks a little short and weak, but maybe it's because of his baggy uniform...]

[ guess who isn't watching where he's going either, preoccupied with something on his phone-- but when he looks up the next second, aoba spots onoda right in his path and abruptly swerves around him, turning back to say something only to see him making a beeline for the fire hydrant. ]

Hey--!! Watch out!

[ he'll make an attempt to grab him by the back of his shirt! ]

[It's hard to not feel uncomfortable just going outside because what the hell is this place? His first thought is yeah, maybe it's just a westernized version of everything he knows, but what are these machines that go down the road, and wow how does that kitchen light itself? It's like magic. Of course, how the hell is he supposed to know that half this shit will be invented eventually when he's from 1860s Japan?

But outside feels a lot better than inside right now, even though he totally looks out of place wearing a Japanese hakama and long hair tied back like... well some fashion is at that time.

Please bug him even though the expression on his face pretty much reads 'don't friggin' bug me'.]

[Hearing there was a pleasure gate made him go there to get some good entertainment and maybe relax a little with some good food. And not a drink because he's the worst drunk ever. But when he gets is some crappy show of untrained entertainers? It makes him feel spoiled that a place like Shimabara exists when he wants a nice night to relax and have good entertainment. Excuse his disgusted face as he walks out of the show because this isn't what he signed up to watch.]

[ Bugging people who look like they don't want to be bugged happens to be one of this girl's specialities. And with the way Hijikaa is standing there out on the porch and the expression on his face it's pretty clear he's still new, and Minako is part of the welcoming committee and all..

.. or, well. Let's just be honest with ourselves and admit she's spotting a handsome guy, of course she's going to take her chance here. She practically bounces on her feet as she runs over to him, all smiles. ]

[ cats were definitely more important, this is just the way things go. italy here? he has no real reason to be at school, other than to just check things out. one thing anyone could be sure of though, the fact that this nation can be pretty easily distracted. seeing seto petting that cat got him to slow to a stop ]

[ Marth is still really confused. He has a house and a pretend family and has to go to school. And even stranger, people keep telling him he's some sort of historical hero king.

But first things first. School. He stands at the entrance, wearing his long blue tunic, matching pants, and brown boots. He'd discarded the cloak and armor back home, no longer seeing a need for it here. Medeus wasn't here, so all should be safe. He still needed to get back home and figure out who took the Falchion and Fire Emblem.

He stops someone in the hallways. ]

Oh, yes, the last thing he really wanted was a nice, lovely home with all the trimmings; spouse, kids, monotonous job... you know, everything that being Rufus Shinra is totally not about. Yet here he is, and if you're unfortunate enough to be anywhere near him today, after he's (partly) resigned himself to staying here (for now), be prepared for some nasty looks.

It's hard to say if that makes him lucky or not. Parker isn't a slob, but he's not too tidy and he can cook traditional Italian food and mac and cheese (that is essentially his limit, unless cereal and hot dogs also count). He's a pretty alright dad and has settled into monotony with ease. Arguably, because of the fact that he was shot and certain he was going to die on that sinking ship when he first arrived. He wouldn't call all of this 'living life to its fullest', but it's better than nothing.

He's outside trimming the hedges, a loud bzzzzzzzzrrrrzzzz sound echoing a few houses down in either direction. Once he finishes one side, he pauses to wave to his new neighbor.

"Hello, there. Global warming, eh?" A reference to the sweat pouring down his forehead, likely. "Could be worse. Could be a lot worse!"

The whole being pulled randomly from one place to another without much choice? He'd been there before, so he wasn't worried. The whole having a family? Well, that was a bit strange. But the whole normal job, no strange monsters (that he'd met), and all of that? Perfect for the time being.

(Un?)fortunately, the leader of the LEU is not a family member. Currently a single mom of two boys not that much younger than herself and... not hating it in particular. She liked her house, her friends, and even her job -- despite it being a little mundane (there aren't many crimes going on here, after all). She hadn't been comfortable at the start, but several months later she found herself liking the idea of staying here.

"Quite a negative thing to say." She doesn't even assume he's new based on that statement. She does, however, assume it because she tries to make it her business to know who is here and if they're trouble makers or not. "Don't worry, you're in good hands."

[There was only one reasonable place for Makishima to begin his search, and that was what lead him to the Shopping District. The stores were plentiful and of a larger variety than he could have ever expected, but then again, seeing as this Landlord had a hundred or so people to keep under control, he figured he'd have to have a whole lot at hand to keep them happy. A mall, a library, a zoo, dozens of bakeries and coffee shops, even a gun store (why did they need a gun store?). This place seemed to have everything.

Everything except the exact thing Makishima had been trying to look for. Scratching at his head, he lets out a near defeated sigh as he gazes around the area one more time, trying to figure out where to try his luck next. He should have looked up a map or something. After a moment's pause, he turns around, then catches sight of someone nearby and approaches them.]

Hey. Is there a bicycle shop around here? No motors, just the regular kind. Or at least something good for road racing. [He'd go into more specifics, but he'd rather not confuse a random stranger with cyclist lingo. Granted, a simple bicycle would have done well enough for him, but honestly, he wanted something a little better than that. Hell, he'd probably take something like Onoda's mommy bike. ...okay maybe he wasn't that desperate. Yet.]

[Well Yuiko had always been rather curious, and it seemed like it was perfectly fine to look around on her own since no one had said not to. So rather than going to the house that she had been assigned, Yuiko is going to explore the city. Besides waking up in someone's lawn chair was kind of weird, but she figured she must have just gotten tired on the way home and dozed off or something.]

[mizuki is walking around the area, trying to get a grasp on the cookie-cutter style of the town. it's different from midorijima -- calmer, at least. the houses are much larger than his own tiny apartment. his eyes are drawn to the sky frequently, not used to its open blueness. there's so much space here.]

Houses like this are probably expensive... There's gotta be a catch.

[still if there's one thing he misses, it's his shop........]

[they'll bump into each other on the way to the only open register, this time of day (there's only two registers but it seems like only one is ever open at all times though). makoto has a basket full of frozen ready-for-the-oven meals, and he smiles apologetically at the rad mister with the cool clothes.]

[There's going to be two things here, but most important is the first, because that's what's going to be the present:

1. There's a boy stuck in a tree. He's clinging for dear life, trembling like a leaf about to fall, and he's calling for help weakly. Heeelp. Heeeeeelp.

2. How he got up. There was a cat stuck in the tree, or so he thought, so he jumped up to get it. He's got an amazing jump - he can see the over top of a volleyball net despite his 162cm (163cm if you round up!!) height - and obviously the best use was this. The cat itself is watching him from below, licking his fur without a care.]

You-- You're a little demon! You tricked me! You could get down the whole time!
