WHAT I LEARNED IN BOATING SCHOOL IS -
TEST DRIVE MEME

HOW IT WORKS:

HOW IT WORKS:
► STEP 1 | Post a comment with a character that's not in HH as if they're already in the setting; alternative version, post character who is in HH. Scenarios if you need 'em!
► STEP 2 | Tag around and get a feel for your characters, whether you're just voice testing or planning to actually app them in!
► STEP 3 | Post this all over your plurk and get people to join in on this jolly good fun. Don't forget: it's mandatory.
mmmm delicious copypasta

[Stepping out of the house with a gardening apron tied over her vintage dress, she turns her head looking for the speaker, finally catching sight of him on the roof and raising an eyebrow at him.]
A strange thing to hear from a man crouching on my roof like a gargoyle. [It reminded her of her familiar doing something similar.] What in tarnation are you doing up there?
no subject
Watching. What are you doing out at night? It's dangerous.
[well, he assumes it's dangerous. he's out, after all.]
no subject
Watching what? The stars? [She waves the trowel in her hand around a bit, continuing to look up at him.] I can take care of myself and it's more dangerous up there, I reckon. What if you fall and break something?
no subject
Don't worry about what I'm doing. And I won't break anything. Your house will be fine. I didn't hurt anything getting up here...
no subject
I don't mean the house. I mean you. Even if it's only one story, that doesn't mean a fall wouldn't hurt and I'd rather not have to give you stitches.
no subject
I've had worse from higher spots. I told you not to worry about what I'm doing, anyway. [a rumble.] Why do you care about my safety?
no subject
You make a habit out of scaling other people's homes? And I'd just rather not see folks needlessly hurt.
no subject
[she gets no more explanation than that. the second bit gets him to shift around a bit, a bit uncomfortable with the fact she's aggressively caring. this is so new...]
...Well, then. Thank you. But I'll be fine.
no subject
[He couldn't mean a literal castle, could he? His clothes did seem a bit old-fashioned even compared to her vintage wardrobe. And this place did seem to have it's share of strange people.]
So, why are you here instead of on your own roof?
no subject
[and what kind of phrase was that? he was going to have to use that now, maybe. it sounded like the sort of thing belle would say, but it didn't sound as nice coming from Tarnation Woman.
he grumbles a little, and frowns at her.]
There's no reason to be on my roof. [duh.] Your roof isn't the only one I've been on, but you're the only one who's... caught me. [yeah, be embarrassed, you grumbly nerd.] Anyway, I told you earlier, I'm watching... It's dangerous to be out at night.
no subject
[Okay, now she's a bit curious... Maybe he's from Europe? Or a fanciful rich guy who had a place built to look like a castle?]
Watching for what? Thieves? I reckon most folks would be more alarmed to find that a stranger was climbing up onto their roof. They might think you're a burglar and call the police on you.
no subject
he hums again, and then sighs.]
I don't know what the police is. [so whatever it is, he doesn't care.] I'm watching for something. Stars. People. Animals. What does it matter?
