You could be honest and say they're frightened. Monsters... don't just make people uncomfortable.

[he says it frankly, with less malice and more anger, then saves his breath for the inevitable fight on the rooftop. (deja vu, man.) but her comment about a dungeon strikes him as... hilarious. tonight is a night of firsts, because he laughs-- loudly. it rumbles from deep in him, and come out sounding like a cackle, like his throat has never experienced something like this. what is this foreign feeling? is this... amusement? he keeps himself prepared for battle, but his teeth are bared in part smile, part threat.]

You're right, they're frightened because some idiot's on their roof and they know nothing about him. He could intend to attack them or maybe he'll just slip off and break his neck.

[ This weird guy is probably more likely to do the latter, she has since decided. The way he laughs is enough to annoy her further -- though in reality, what reason does she have to be annoyed? What else did she have to do? Paperwork? Patrol where she might catch a few stray cats? ]

so the goal is to get that whip out of her hands as quickly as possible, and get it to the ground. if times get desperate, he'll hardcore parkour his ass to another roof. he might not be be as strong or as terrifying as he used to be, but skills do not disappear overnight.]

And what are they going to do? Get on the roof too?

Quistis takes this all as a sign that it's time to escalate this. He's obviously not against fighting back, but really all she can do is go to grab him again until (unless?) she calls for back-up. She's junctioned for speed at least, so her movement is almost incomprehensible to the human mind as she grabs his arm while moving behind him; arm pulled and twisted around to where she stands. Though she isn't one to play rough, she still gives him a bit of a push-pull-push. ]

[it's spat out at her, and he means it. she's a police officer-- that means jack all to him.

what means something is the fact that she's incredibly fast (too fast), and in one moment she goes from facing him, to being behind him and twisting his arm. it's not a terrible pain, but enough of one to get him to do something about it. he uses his shoulder to try to push her back, and to jerks his arm our of her grip again. he doesn't want her to fall to the ground, but if that's what it will take to get her to leave him alone... he's rough with his motions, pushing both of them towards the back of the house and away from the front edge.]
