[ there are a million questions here that don't have to do with this--namely "why are we here" and "why are you here" and "where's the rest of my team" but, honestly, that's not even close to where his head goes.

if oikawa is here, and hinata is here, and they're both volleyball players and hinata is a spiker and oikawa is a setter--he'll ] Does--Does this mean we have to be on the same volleyball team?! [ there are actually about five ?!?!??!?!'s on that, at least verbally ]

Sometimes you have to roll with the punches Shrimpy-kun. You don't see me complaining about having to work with Tobio-chan, now do you?

Yes... He's been here a month more than I have.

And you guys are playing...on the same team...? [ could that mean they get along now? or that kageyama surpassed oikawa? is kageyama starting? who is he spiking to, can they hit his tosses? so many questions....

he's suddenly feeling super proud of kageyama. he needs to go tell him he's amazing or something and get it out of his system. ]

We're attempting to be, at least. We've been recruiting members, so we haven't exactly had the time to play, per se. [also there was an awkward moment when tobio-chan looked at oikawa like a brother. and did the whole admiring thing he did back when they were younger.]

[kablam]

Whoa. [ they haven't had time to play volleyball? what?? what kind of a crazy world is this?? hinata blinks sort of owlishly at him for a second as he digests all of that information, and then balls up his fists at his side, a grin starting to come over his face. ]

Okay! [ he proclaims, because if kageyama can do it, so can he! besides, it would probably be pretty cool to hit oikawa's tosses. he could learn so much from him! ] I'm playing, then! how many people do you have?! Please let me hit some of your tosses, Oikawa-san!

[ also because then when they're on opposite teams and the universe is right again he can use them against him. what? ]

It's been quite the endeavor really. [and crazy rose shenanigans. and then tobio-chan doing things on his own. but he wasn't all that surprised about that to be honest...

he hums a little in thought as he mentally counts how many people said that they were interested.] Well there's me, Tobio-chan and Refreshing-kun... and from the people that are here there are... [a pause.] either four or five others who seemed interested? I only know of two of them though. Tobio-chan has talked to the rest, so you'd be better off asking who the others are.

Though the two who I've talked to would be beginners, so I don't know if they'd want to join any competitive games yet. And oh? If we manage to get more than enough people to be able to be able to play versus, then sure. If Tobio-chan is okay with it, that is. [he has a feeling that it won't be tho. also lmao you're so cute shrimpy, but i don't think that's how this works.]

[kablam]

Sugawara-san is here too! [ oh thank goodness!! sugawara will probably know everything that's going on, because he's questionably an angel in human form and also like hinata's favorite person in the whole wide universe. maybe. okay, well, his whole team is.

except tsukishima.

anyway. hinata listens to everything he says mostly, realizing that they might have to teach beginners. hinata's not sure how great of a teacher he's going to be, because how does he even explain the things he does (he just hits the ball and goes kablam! what else is there to it?) but, luckily, just as he's having a slight volleyball-related crisis he realizes what oikawa said. hold up, record scratch. ] Wait--no, no way! If there's enough for a match I want to play against you. I have to beat you, you know.

[ he pauses, his bravado resulting in a puffed up chest--and then hinata's stomach grumbles and he clasps both of his hands over his stomach and turns green. ] --Eck....

[trashyking]

Yes, he's been here for about a month now? I think. [he looks up thoughtfully.] Tobio-chan has been here the longest, then I arrived here, and then Refreshing-kun showed up a month after I did. Annnd now you've shown up as well!

[he watches hinata's face droop a little at the mention of beginners and waves a hand.] It's alright, I promised them I would help teach them. [he coaches kids (and his sweet adorable nephew) at lil tykes, so he doesn't really mind teaching the others.] I kind of accepted the fact that it would come down to me and Refreshing-kun to help the newbies out anyways. [he's a captain after all, and suga is momma suga.] Tobio-chan put out a video a while back explaining the fundamentals of volleyball and it was... well... it definitely had his flair. But it was too long and very winded.

[he pauses as he looks at the other and then laughs a little.] Ehh well, we are playing against each other back home~ But if you're that eager then I suppose we could arrange something. [he makes a face.] Are you... going to puke?

[kablam]

[ well, that makes sense. he tries to picture kageyama teaching kids how to play volleyball for a minute, and hinata's face goes pinched as he tries kind of hard not to laugh--it's completely obvious all over his face, though. they're friends, really. he promises. ]

Wait--a whole month? I just saw you--and you too! Like, yesterday. And you've been here for a month?

[ that makes actually zero sense. hinata would much rather talk about volleyball than space time paradoxes, but his stomach would also rather him throw up from sheer "oh-god-where-is-my-team-why-am-i-not-with-them-THEY-NEED-ME-I-NEED-THEM" related panic and before he can properly open his mouth, he just sort of nods his head, turning green at the edges. thinking about the concept of time being weird really didn't help him any.

so much for that bravado. hinata squawks out a-- ] Bathroom?

Technically I've been here for almost two! And just think, Tobio-chan has been here the longest. This sort of stuff is a little weird to get used to. Just try not to let it get over your head. [he pauses.] It's just around the corner.

[kablam]

[ hinata mumbles something that might be a thank you and nods his head, more or less waddling around the corner in order to attend the bathroom. he's still not sure how he feels about that conversation. or about oikawa. he's still kind of terrifying in a weirdly nice way.

he really does need to stop running into big people on his way to the bathroom.... ]
