MISTLETOE MEME
Ah, the shameless (shameful?) classic. Happy holidays, Holly Heights.

How it works:
➜ Your character is going about their business when suddenly... oop, mistletoe.
➜ Double oop, someone else walked under at the same time.
➜ Maybe this is usual mistletoe and they can just joke about it and awkwardly shuffle off.
➜ Oooooor maybe it's cursed mistletoe and they can't leave until they kiss each other.
➜ Good luck with that!
copypasta'd from our wonderful ante!

I want you to know you're one of my best friends.
[ In hindsight, he wishes he didn't make it sound like they were about to go into a final battle under leveled. The sentiment fit either way. The road is starting to look bleak and Teshima has Last Words worked up. ]

Those last words pulled Aoyagi from his suspicions and into another realm of worry. Why was Teshima saying that to him? Aoyagi's face shifted from something close to fear all the way to concern. What was the worst that good happen?
Except Aoyagi knew the answer to that didn't he? ]
Maybe you could just...
[ Aoyagi tapped his own cheek. Surely that would be enough right? They didn't have to actually kiss did they? Unless...no way, Teshima couldn't possibly want to. ]
no subject
He didn't have to use his hands or do anything weird right? It's just a harmless peck. ]
Hopefully that's enough.
[ All he had to do now is lean over and do it. Sucking in a deep breath and releasing it, he leaned over and quickly pecked a kiss to Aoyagi's cheek. That was it right? That wasn't so bad if it was something that quick and harmless. ]
no subject
He swallowed hard and took a breath.
Okay, it hadn't been that bad.
He took a step backwards, trying to see if he could get out from under the mistletoe but there it was again, that tugging on his body as if a giant was keeping him in place. ]
no subject
[ That was worrying, but no he had an idea. He poked his own cheek, looking over at Aoyagi. Maybe a return kiss would do it, in that case? He was going to have to put his chips in with this option. Otherwise they were going to have to start coming to terms with a few things... ]
Maybe you just need to do it back. [ Western traditions are scandalous. ]
no subject
He took a breath and let it out shakily. It was just a kiss on the cheek no big deal right?
He gulped, leaning forward and closing the gap between the two of them until his lips were pressed against Teshima's cheek in a quick chaste gesture. Please tell him that worked! ]
no subject
Teshima almost forgets to step back in how he was watching Aoyagi lean away from him. Shaking his head, he finally stepped to the side and...
Success! That was close. He could definitely hear his heart start to beat faster as he tried to step out of the way. That's one bullet successfully dodged. Right? ..Yeah. Right.]
I can move again! That was close. For a moment I thought it was going to keep pushing.
no subject
He had to admit, some part of him was actually a little disappointed that they were free, but the vast majority of Aoyagi was smothering that bit of him under a pile of pillows and telling him to shut up. Teshima was his friend he wasn't going to mess that up by some non-chaste kiss on any other part of his body. ]
no subject
You okay now that we can move? [ He couldn't step back in to check on him without damning himself again. ]
no subject
He tilted his head curiously at his friend, pointing a finger at him as if to ask "are you okay?" without actually saying it. Maybe Aoyagi was the one who'd been too worried about the kiss. ]
no subject
[ The smile was good to see. Teshima took a couple of steps forward to clear the mistletoe before he turned back to him. ]
Do you think there's going to be more of that around the town? It's going to be hard to dodge.
no subject
He looked up, trying to keep an eye out for anymore mistletoe and wondering if this next time they'd get so lucky as to get away with a kiss on the cheek. ]

What if one of us were caught with Tadokoro-san? Or Imaizumi? ... Or Naruko.
[ Naruko's name, of course, was spoken like a curse. He could imagine Naruko's having fun with this stuff for sure, but sometimes mistakes happened. ]

You wanna call this one done? I have a feeling this will come up actually in game at some point XD
Yup ....it sure will......
no subject
Unfortunately.... well let's face it you know what's above them.]
Sorry, Te-- ...damn it.
no subject
The second point was looking up at all of the weird stuff hanging from his hair and his face lighting up with poorly controlled laughter. Oh god who got to Makishima? Everyone knew he was a little Christmas-themed, but this is just going above and beyond the call of fashion.
The third only came after some wondering about what he was damning... until he saw it. ]
...Why is that there?
no subject
I don't know which one you're talking about, but both have the same answer. Because life is sometimes very unfair.
[Which does in fact work in this situation.] Give me a hand first. One's-- ow! ...tangled in my hair. [He stops tugging at one of the little red circle ornaments, as he doesn't want to damage his hair any further.]
no subject
[ He didn't want to accidentally pull out any of his sempai's hair while trying to help him. At least he can reach up and carefully tug out the decorations that aren't starting to fuse with his long locks and toss them to the side. ]
no subject
As suggested, Makishima bends his knees just slightly and leans over, giving Teshima a better reach to help him.]
no subject
[ It's not because he thinks Toudou wouldn't, but Nico feels like she'd take better advantage of it.
He reached for the hook it was on and gently moving the hair off of it to free the ornament. He repeated this for all of the ornaments he could see, taking the freed one and holding them out for Makishima to hold afterward. ]
Got a Christmas date this year? [ Since he was helping him they might as well try to hold a conversation. ]
no subject
But without her around, Makishima is more than willing to risk her wrath by having most of it taken off. Cupping his hands, he makes a temporary place for Teshima to put whatever he grabs, head bowed low to make things easier.
It's a good thing the curtain of his hair hides the slight hint of red on his cheeks from Teshima's question. If it was anyone else, he'd say it was none of their business, but for him, he can offer at least something more courteous.]
...I have plans, if that answers your question.
no subject
She's pretty good at it at least! She took real care with making you look good. A girl with an eye like this would definitely be 'your daughter'. [ Really more Toudou's daughter, but Makishima wanted that hell so it's his.
Haha, as he thought. Makishima did have Christmas plans in place. Things were really starting to come together. ]
You sound happy about it. Ahh, this should be the last one. [ Dropping the ornaments with the others. ]
no subject
Keep saying things like that and I'm going to put these in your hair to see how you like it. She's more Toudou's daughter than mine. [Not that he thinks of her as his daughter at all. Nico is just Nico. (This is in fact a lie).
That's as much as Makishima chooses to say on that subject, even though the next one is just as awkward for him to discuss. However even though he has yet to bridge the subject of his relationship with Toudou to Teshima, he figures he could at least be honest with Teshima. They're part of a team, almost like a family, and while he hasn't always been good at sharing his feelings with others he figures it's never a bad time to start.
As he looks down at the ornaments in his hands, an array of clashing different colors, he can't seem to help but smile just a little.]
...but I am. Happy.
[Dating Toudou was probably the most difficult decision he could ever make, but it was also the best one.]
no subject
For how happy he could be that Makishima found something that made him happy, it always called back to the phone call they had before. Somehow, at some point, something either had to change or be left behind. This was the conclusion he was drawing from all of their talks. ]
Was it hard to let yourself be happy?
