Come on! I told my secret!

Because you have one and I'm pretty sure I don't. I don't even know where to begin with something like this.

Oh come on. You're no fun. Everybody totally has a secret. Don't be boring.

[ He feels like if Poland could confess something so important, that he really has an expectation to reach. Wracking his brain, there's not much that he really thinks would satisfy his friend. He tells him everything about Belarus. His life anymore consists of work or being with Poland in some form or fashion anyway, be it being in the same house or out doing something. Going back further and further in his history it only then hits him that he does have something that's a secret and he sits up straighter because of it. Lithuania can't tell him about those, could he? How would he even react to something as awful as those scars. Best not to even think about it. He nervously tries to brush the whole thing off. ]

Aha, I guess I'm boring then. I really don't have anything good to tell you.

[Poland's not the brightest, but even he can tell when his friend acts differently. Unfortunately he isn't the brightest and so while he knows his friend did think of something, he doesn't realize it's obviously not something he wants to share. So he grins and decides to try to get it out of him.]

Liar! You totally have a secret!

[ He knows Poland is going to just keep pushing this matter until it's not amusing anymore, but that doesn't stop him from trying to say no as much as humanly possibly. Or, in this case, nationly. An uneasy chuckle leaves his lips. ]

Honestly, Poland! What secrets I do have would probably bore you.

I want to know them anyway!

[He's not catching on and keeps on bugging him. Before long he'll be poking him probably.]

[ He thinks of something quickly, just to say that he said something at all, but the lie is so obvious, he kicks himself immediately. ]

Alright, alright; one time I told President Grybauskaitė that I was stuck in traffic and that I'd be late when I was really just getting in an extra hour of sleep! [ God that was lame. ]

[That is a really obvious lie. It has to be obvious if Poland knows it and he deflates a little.] Dude, you could at least come up with a juicy lie if you're going to lie. Uncool.

[ He sighs. There really is no getting past this. He looks at him as seriously as possible, though it stings to deny his friend something. If it was anything else, he'd comply. ]

Please, Poland, I really can't tell you any secret. Honest.

[That makes him a little nervous. What could it be? They've lived together so long that sharing everything is just commonplace. What could he not know? Especially that Lithuania doesn't want him to know. Is it about him? He doesn't know. He really doesn't.

A part of him wants to demand the secret, but he won't. Demanding something that Lithuania obviously does not want to share won't end up going well. It's one thing to demand they spend time together or Lithuania do something for him because he knows Lithuania likes to. But if Lithuania's telling him an honest to god no, he can't push it no matter how much this bothers him. With a shrug, that's all he does to show he won't push him anymore for the secret.

If he did know what it was about, he wouldn't have even badgered him. There really are some things you just don't share.]

[ He can tell that Poland didn't exactly like that answer; he might not get some things but he can read that body language and that stare like an open book. Some days, doing the most mundane things, he would get that urge to just say something, because no matter how long it went a secret and how many personal things he would keep, sometimes a lot of it just wanted to come out. Some days, there wasn't much else on his mind other the mountain of things he had to keep inside that he wanted to say something about because Poland was his best friend; after a while the things that went unmentioned felt like lies until they finally became weighed down with everything else. But something like this, to show a weakness that great and to relive that is something he can't do. Not in a silly game. Not now.

Lithuania does know that he probably ruined Poland's fun and made some little game into a huge deal, and fort that he's sorry. But more than anything, he's glad that Poland, through his faults, will know when to stop. Poland was brave enough to tell his secret, but he wasn't brave enough to tell his. He smiles weakly and quietly says it: ] Thank you. [ Because there really isn't much else he can say. ]

[It may be a weak smile, but it's still genuine and it makes Poland completely forget any frustration he felt. There's still some hurt that Lithuania doesn't want him to know something, but the smile and thank you say enough. Besides he's hiding things from him, too, so can he really complain?

Poland's not one for letting moments like these last long so he laughs.] You're like, really bad at lying, though. I totally had that secondhand embarrassment thing for you just now.

[ A smirk shows ever so slowly on his face. Leave it to Poland to ruin the atmosphere, but he's thankful for it this time. ]

I'll never be as bad a liar as you, though.

[A DRAMATIC GASP. He's not even faking that.]

I don't lie! I'm seriously honest.

[ He rolls his eyes. ] You were just lying not five minutes ago!

When?!

[He can't even remember breakfast. Gosh.]

Just a second ago! You told me you liked someone, then that you didn't, then that you did again.

[ If he were at his house, he would have been able to tell him. Sorry, man. ]
