( oh wow, so that is indeed a rare sight. hirato, petting animals.

if it was some other person in circus, they'd probably expecting the sky to fall or the ground to open up. but since this is tsukumo, she's just - well, deadpan as usual though very much amused in some way.

she's brought a few of the sheep that yogi has acquired along with yukkin to the zoo in a form of excursion (because they need exercise too) though it looks more like a set of cute guards accompanying her instead. in any case - )

Captain? ( headtilt. ) May I ask what you're doing?

[ though tsukumo seems just as deadpan as usual, leave it to her captain to have a vague idea that she's either intrigued or amused. or a mix of both. call it a gut feeling of sorts.

either way, the sheep decides to move on to greener pastures once the petting seizes. even if regular sheep aren't too shabby, they can't really live up to the mechanical ones.

Well, it's a petting zoo, isn't it? [ haha wow he's so funny and witty (no) ] It'd be a bit boring to come here and not get to pet anything.

she can very well see what he's doing and while the mechanical sheep move towards hirato and give him the usual baa-ing and greeting, tsukumo simply stands on the spot, bowing her head slightly in acknowledgement. )

I didn't think you'd be the type who would willingly pet animals. ( since she's never seen him pet the sheep at all, unless he does it secretly. and unless the members of the second ship actually count as pets. ) Or the type who would visit petting zoos at all.

while it's not the same as actually being back home on the ship, it'd be a lie to say he isn't at least a little glad to have a few the sheep here. it's been surprisingly empty somehow to not have any of them trotting around the house. is this how pet owners feel, perhaps?

he'll give them an acknowledging nod, but not really do anything else that betrays that vague homesickness. ]

My, my. Is that your way of implying I'm getting too old for these things, Tsukumo? [ jokes aside, he's not very surprised to hear her say that. he's not the warmest or most affectionate person in the world, after all. ]

( she's actually waiting for him to pet one of them, considering that ... well, he was petting one of the sheep earlier. but she supposes that it doesn't apply to mechanical sheep. strange, since she's thought it may have had his lack of interaction with the sheep.

I have not implied anything. ( she sighs. trust him too to raise any kind of comment about his age. ) It's simply that you've never showed interest in such things. You've always been indifferent about them.
