[If Mia decides to investigate or pass by House 1438, there is someone outside shoveling the sidewalk while a border collie rolls around in a patch of snow. That someone has his back turned but it is clear that he has gray hair and is wearing a long cobalt coat. His pants are burgundy.

And his dog perks up upon seeing Mia and will run over to her excitedly. Person!]

[Mia does approach a certain 1438, if only because she sees a figure there in the distance-- but it's the dog who approaches her first.

Stooping down and crossing her arms over her knees, she reaches out a hand to let the dog sniff.]

Hey there... Well, aren't you friendly. Where's your owner, hmm?

[Casting her eyes above the pup, she does catch those burg--

Seriously, is he wearing cobalt with burgundy? What the hell.

Not the point. That grey haircut looks familiar.]

[To be fair he just threw the coat onto himself and went to shovel the snow off the sidewalk. IT'S NOT LIKE HE'S GOING ANYWHERE OR ANYTHING...

Anyway, the dog sniffs her hand eagerly, wagging his tail. He gives an excited bark - and both that and the woman's voice will alert the man whose back is currently turned to a new arrival. He turns around, clutching his snow shovel - and gasps, nearly dropping it. That voice had sounded familiar. It was the voice of a fellow greenhorn on a fateful court day. Their first trial.]

...M-Miss Fey?

[It shouldn't be so surprising, right? He had his dad with him, didn't he? But...still.]

[Scratching the dog's head-- having been given permission by the sniff, of course-- Mia seems calm as can be.

The last time she saw him was through Pearl's eyes, but she knows full well that's not the last time he's seen her.]

[It's easy to secure Pess' permission to scratch his head. His tail is beating a groove into the snow and he leans against Mia. What a nice human. When she's done he will proceed to roll around in the snow as if trying to make a doggy snow angel.]

It has, yes. [A comparatively long while; thanks to his stay in Holly Heights it has been months since the Hazakura case. That's right - Hazakura. She had been there, hadn't she? Edgeworth is not sure what to say - "How have you been?" did not seem appropriate.] When did you get here?

[She straightens out her skirt as she stands again.]

I assume you've been here much longer?

[Edgeworth puts down his shovel, letting it lean against the house. Pess, suddenly tired of making doggy snow angels, proceeds to run all over the front yard, skidding into snowdrifts and leaving trails of paw prints everywhere.]

More than six months, to be precise.

But... the Hazakura case was just a month ago.
