I mean, it would be great because I think there's a lot of people who could benefit from Basketball and playing it. :D

Why not? My friends and i started a swim club without a problem. There's even some adults who don't go to school anymore interested in swimming with us some times.
There's a lot of sporty people around!
I've never played much basketball myself except for during gym periods back home hmm
