[This man has nothing against women, in fact, the utter respect he has for a strong woman is through the roof -- but he does have things against annoying people. This wouldn't have happened back home and especially not back at the compound where people seem to know to stay away from him. However, he knows he's in a place where he's unfamiliar with, well, everything including the practices of the people which are all really odd to him.

Especially with a young girl coming up to him practically demanding she help him. Okay, so it's not unfamiliar, but this is definitely what he's not used to.]

I don't recall asking for help, though if you want to make yourself useful, make me a cup of tea.

[ If this scene were any more anime, Minako might actually have fallen down at that response.. while she might have been expecting a lot of things, that kind of reaction sure isn't it.

It's why she actually blankly stares at him for a moment or two (Somehow it feels natural though, doesn't it? Maybe it's his stern look or something, like he's used to ordering people around..) before she manages to recover, smiling again. ]

Making tea-- no way! [ And the only proper response is clearly to act like an idiot again.. ] I don't think we're ready for that step in our relationship just yet..!

[His eye clearly twitches at her response, not even trying to hide his annoyance. She said she wanted to help, and he told her how she could help like any attendant or page of his would. Clearly, she thinks of this as an act a wife would do for her husband, which makes it far more annoying. When did making tea for someone become an act of intimacy?]

I don't know how things friggin' work here, but you asked how you could help and I told you how. If that's all you have to offer, then go the hell away.

[ Thankfully Minako's grump resistance is a pretty decent high level by now.. not that it wasn't already pretty great to begin with (that's just what happens when you try to conquer an ice queen like Rei Hino into friendship, really) but Holly Heights only made it even stronger.

So despite the fact that Hijikata is close to glaring daggers, if not there already, Minako just smiles. She realises she'll just actually have to do this if she wants to be able to have a longer chat.. so.. fine, fine, she'll cut her losses and actually work for once.

She winks, apparently unfazed. ]
