KEEP ROLLIN ROLLIN ROLLIN ROLLIN

HOW IT WORKS:
► STEP 1 | Post a comment with a character that's not in HH as if they're already in the setting; alternative version, post character who is in HH. Scenarios if you need 'em!
► STEP 2 | Tag around and get a feel for your characters, whether you're just voice testing or planning to actually app them in!
► STEP 3 | Post this all over your plurk and get people to join in on this jolly good fun. Don't forget: it's mandatory.
copypasta'd, I ain't original enough to make a new one.

"I was on a sinking ship with little to no hope of escaping when I was transported here. I think drowning tops mowing the lawns, don't you?" Maybe he's just stupidly optimistic or maybe he's delusional? Who knows. "Why is this so bad? Free room and board, instant friends..."
Don't forget the whole kidnapping and forcing you to play 'house' thing.

Carefully, Rufus finds somewhere to lean. "I've never been partial to this sort of life, and I can assure you there is no such thing as "instant friends."

"Boredom or suburban dad? I admit that I never would have thought I'd settle down so soon or like this, but I don't hate it." It would be better if he knew everyone was safe and sound. But he'll take this little vacation for now. "Not getting along with the missus I take it?" A very obvious eyebrow waggle. "Or is it a mister?"

As for that very last remark, "Does it matter? That person is not someone I know, and certainly not someone I married. And I'm far more interested in why I'm here, and all the details related to it."

"I guess it doesn't." He wonders if he hit a sore spot? Seems like he might have. "Can't really help you on the why. Maybe we're just popular guys!" He was oversimplifying it and he knew it, but what more could he do about this place? He couldn't escape to his knowledge and the landlord dodged questions (and appearances) like he was a celebrity.

As for sore spots... Well, the last thing Rufus ever wanted to deal with was admitting what he preferred in the way of gender, although he supposed conclusions would be drawn once his "spouse" was revealed. And amusingly, the conclusion would be wrong either way...
A small sigh of frustration was allowed to escape, however. "Wonderful. Is there someone else who might have more information?" The obvious, or not so obvious hint, depending on Parker's perception of tone was that Rufus was currently finding the man exceptionally useless.

Reading this guy isn't easy, though. He figures that he most likely keeps to himself and doesn't particularly enjoy the company of anyone. Based on the way he's dressed... lawyer, maybe? A business professional of some kind. Either way, Parker would be willing to stake his reputation (or lack thereof) on him being a suit of some sort.
"What kind of information are you looking for?" Oh, he understood the hint he was giving to him and heard it loud and clear. "You'll have to be more direct if you want a direct answer."

The response from Parker would cause a small gleam to enter Rufus' eyes, perhaps analyzing to see if he'd caught the implication, before Rufus finally decided he didn't wish to play as aloof as he had been, and would be far more direct.
Stepping off the porch he had been staying on, almost as if protecting himself, he started to move towards the other man, arms folded across his chest, not in defense, but in an indication of power, and when he spoke, his words no longer held the tinge of annoyance they had been; replaced, instead, with an indication that he wasn't fooling around and wanted to see exactly what sort of person he was dealing with.
"I would have thought what I wanted to know would be obvious, considering the situation, but I can spell it out if it makes you feel better. Where is this? How did I get here? Why am I here? Who exactly are you? Who runs this place? Is it dangerous? And how do I get out of here?"
