Want to app, or maybe you've already got one written up? Maybe you want to try before you buy? This is the meme for that, in the official pre-opening test drive meme! Of course, it's unfair to throw you into a sea without some life vest, so some prompts for possible situations have been given to you, and are as follows. These can all be in either log style, text, voice, or video; it's up to you!

YOUR OPTIONS

THE HOUSING GATE. While your new home is extremely lovely with a well stocked fridge and french doors and a carpet you could probably sleep comfortably on, especially if you're married and don't want to deal with awkward bed sharing, it's nice to go out every once in a while and explore the area. You do have a new car you know. Maybe you're a kid, joy riding, or taking you family on a little trip through the rows of houses that all look suspiciously alike. Or, perhaps, you've brought a friend along on a trip to somewhere else (you are running out of that low-fat butter you bought recently), maybe it's even a hitch-hiker! The possibilities are endless, but one thing is certain no matter the scenario: you're going to be stuck in this car for a while.

THE SHOPPING GATE. You're at work. Yeah, you've got a job now, working the 9 to 5, making money to buy that expensive food you like so much. Where do you work? Who are you working with? Do you like your boss? The answers to those questions are up to you. You should really pay attention to that customer coming up to you though. Since that is what you're getting paid for and all.

THE PLEASURE GATE. There's a show going on, although as you watch, the NPCs performing it really aren't up to snuff. Their choppy legwork and monotonous musical numbers leave much to be desired. It's really quite boring to see La Favola d'Orfeo so brutally murdered by untalented, robotic, minions such as these. Maybe texting is in order. Maybe walking out and leaving, catching another show or taking a stroll is in order? They really ought to hire different people to put these things on.

THE ALUMNI GATE. That obnoxious ringing alerts you that school has started yet again. Why do they make you come to this place when all the stupid teachers do is yammer about random things that no one really cares about. Since when did the economy really matter, anyway? Are you going to sit here and take this? Or walk around the school? The boring lady up front isn't really going to notice. Maybe you should go to lunch or chat up some school chums? Your youth isn't going to last forever, you know.

WHATEVER YOU WANT, BRO. Use your imagination and get creative on your own terms! This doesn't count as being in game completely, so feel free to take some liberties with events that could have happened, people you could have met! Just remember to stick to game structure and the rules.

[ Normally, Sheryl didn't get involved with situations like these ... But the younger girl looked familiar to her. Probably someone from the neighborhood. ]

What is going on here?

[ Maria turns to Sheryl to answer, but at that the older woman quickly moves to run away-- much to Maria's dismay, who at first moves to chase her but then realises it's useless either way, so she just sighs briefly before turning towards the older girl again. ]

... A thief. I tried to convince her to return the goods she took, but..

[ Sheryl was surprised. That was unexpected. Usually, it was the other way around. ]

Then what are you doing just waiting here?! Are you just going to let her get away? We have to go after her!

[ She moves to chase after the woman. ]

[ She moves her hand, as if to grab the other girl's wrist to stop her - but the stops her hand right in front of it, as if she doesn't dare to make the final touch. ]

She's already too far gone now. It'd be a waste of energy trying to chase her.

[ Sheryl stopped --- and then gave a frustrated sigh. Maria was right ... it was too late to catch the woman. She didn't like the thought of the woman getting away though. ]

We should let the management know at least. What poor security!

... That woman was just using her age for her own gain.

[ Maria's tone is as blunt as ever, but she at least nods slightly at Sheryl. ]

People believe we should just have respect for old people, and so that woman started thinking she could get away with everything.

[ Sheryl doesn't mind the bluntness. She is blunt and honest herself. ]

Mnmm ... I'm sorry I suspected you.

This is my fault that she got away.

I'm sure anyone would have been inclined to suspect me in a situation like that. That's exactly what always leads to misunderstandings. [ it's happened to her before, after all. ]

But.. don't take this situation the wrong way or blame yourself for it. It's only her fault for all of this, since she stole something to begin with. Only she can carry the blame for her own crime.

[ She shakes her head a bit. ] As an adult, that was still very wrong of me to do. I should have tried to understand the situation before I interfered.

But you are right ... and it doesn't look like there is much we can do now. What we can do is report this incident to prevent this from happening again ...

... what is your name by the way?

... Maria Kawai. [ she nods her head, as a greeting of sorts. ]

But.. this can't fully be prevented from happening again. As long as there are stores, surely there will be people who steal from them too.

Sheryl Nome. [ Nods back. ]

That is true, but that doesn't mean we should leave things as it is. Even if the security is horrible here. The thought of that woman getting away again just irks me.

... [ for a moment she just stares. ]

You have a strong sense of justice. [ or that's what it seems like, right? ] .. It's okay, I'll try harder to catch her next time.
