Furuya-kun! [ haruichi looks as pleased as he can be to see his classmate, lighting up a little even with his bangs over his face, though his cheeks flush pink as his cargo is pointed out. yeah... the struggle when you live in sports heights and everyone eats like horses... ]

Ah, yeah... my family eats a lot, I think. So I thought it'd save a little time. [ he tilts his head, peeking at his basket. ] Are you grocery shopping too?

[Furuya is not the world's most expressive person, but his aura always changes when Kominato-kun is around. He's a little more at ease, lighter. He glances down in his own basket then nods.]

Veronica-san and Takasu usually do it, but I wanted more of these. [He's a simple man.]

Didn't any of your family come to help you? Do you need help?

[ veronica-san and takasu must be furuya's "parents", then? the whole family thing is so strange here. he's not quite used to it...the whole thing just makes him miss ryosuke a little too much.

still, haruichi tips his head in recognition, smiling. it's definitely like furuya-kun to get popsicles. ] Because of the weather, right? Maybe I'll pick some up too.

Ah, no! I went on my own....I guess I didn't really think that through. [ sheepishly: ] Would you mind...? I don't want to trouble you!

[Furuya was already used to being away from home when he got here, and as an only child it's been fairly easy to adapt (especially since he's now lost another brother...). It's still weird thinking about calling anyone else Mom or Dad, though. ]

[It's not completely easy to get the sack of rice up into his arms, but he's had to run drills carrying teammates. At least the rice isn't yelling at him to run faster.]

Are you sure? [ and none for eijun bye. he ends up peeking into the basket curiously before offering up a little bit of a grin to him. if furuya's willing to share, he won't say no!! ] Hopefully we like different flavors. I don't want to eat the ones you like the best!

Oh, Furuya-kun-- [ he thought he was just going to go get a cart, omg. haruichi blushes, lifting his hands kind of halfway to try and stop him, but it's too late and he deflates a little, still bright red. ] Ah...eggs, but, I can carry those. Let me carry your basket or something!

There are more than one of each. [The little grin just warms him but he looks away because that's embarrassing. They're friends, this is what friends do, isn't it?]

It's not so bad. [It's not exactly easy either, though, so when Kominato-kun offers to take his basket, Furuya shakes it down his arm until he can hand it over.]

Is there anything you want to get besides the eggs? Everything is free here.

[ wait, hold up, record scratch. nevermind the cute moment with the ice pops or the basket now in his arms because what. ]

Everything's free? [ haruichi has definitely not been here long. he looks around--sure enough, there's no price tags on anything. ] Are you sure, Furuya-kun?

[ please don't make him bail you out of holly heights jail ]

[Furuya nods at him over the rice. It had taken him virtually zero time to get used to the idea, but he also understands that not everyone is a bottomless pit and Haruichi is usually more modest about food.]

Yeah. It's part of living here. Not at the restaurants or some stores, but when you come here it's all free. [Between the free food and good air conditioning, Furuya spends a lot of time here. It's working out pretty well.

It's mostly Western food but there's a lot of things like home, too.

That's... [ well then. he blinks behind his bangs, sort of relieved that furuya is in fact right and he's not going to get arrested or something for stealing (if anyone wouldn't notice it would be furuya and haruichi worries, okay). ] ...okay.

[ he'll be your partner in crime in this not stealing. adjusting the basket of freezer pops carefully on his arm, haruichi takes a step towards where he thinks the eggs might be, glancing at furuya to make sure they're going the right way. ] I don't think I've had a lot of Western food. Is there anything you really like, Furuya-kun? I guess I don't know where to start...

[It's a very liberating feeling, walking into a grocery store and walking out without paying for anything. It takes some getting used to, though... probably more so for a normally good kid like Kominato-kun.

Furuya peeks over at Kominato-kun and doesn't quite nod but he also doesn't change their path. They're going the right way.

Or at least, they were until Kominato-kun asked about what Furuya likes. He slows down then stops at the end of an aisle, gazing down it longingly.]
