[Poland frowns and then looks away, not bothering to argue anymore. He's happy about it. Of course there's no way Lithuania would know who he did like and so he knows that's safe. But that means Lithuania thinks he likes someone else and he's okay with that.

This isn't cool.]

Liet, I just...I just don't. They don't like me back, so I totally don't, okay? I'm really not crushing on anybody.

[ That small twinge of happiness at those words makes him feel ever so guilty. But being supportive came first, no matter how guilty or sad or replaced he could ever feel about this. ]

Even if they don't like you back, you can't just give up. If you really like them, shouldn't you pursue them further?

[He sighs and absent-mindedly plays with his hair.] No, they like someone else and they really wouldn't be interested in me like that anyway. It's not a big deal.

[ He doesn't really know what to say. Part of him hates how obviously upset Poland is, and the other part is glad that things will stay the same. ]

I'm sure if it was meant to be, then it'll find a way to work itself out.

[Now that's a little hard to hear because wow, that's what Poland tells himself all the time. But to hear Lithuania say it is just something else. He laughs and tries to change the subject.]

Gosh, Liet. You're making a bigger deal out of this than me.

It's a big deal! [ He says a little more forcefully than intended, faltering. ] Love and caring about people are things that are important to everyone, right? So I'm happy you can feel things like that.

[He doesn't seem too happy with that.] Uh, duh? I care about people! I care about Hungary and Italy, dude.

[ Oh my god not Italy, why does Italy always come up. ] Well, I meant in a romantic way. Feeling like that is really wonderful, isn't it?

[ He speaks with first-hand experience in mind. ]

[Him and Italy are bros. That's why. But he's still not happy with any of this.] Not really. [Not right now anyway and he's focusing on the now as always.]

[ That's actually really disheartening to hear. If Poland is going to be romantically involved with someone, he should at least be happy about it. ]

Why not? Shouldn't it be a good feeling? I know just thinking of the person I like, it's amazing...

[Why is it that Lithuania can never figure out that Poland doesn't want to hear about Belarus? ] Liet, seriously, we all know how totally amazing Belarus is. Don't need to remind me.

[ Hard feelings forgotten about for a second, he can't help but laugh a little. ] Well, she is!

[ It takes a lot to actually get out the next part. At the end of the day, even if someone takes his best friend away from him or if things change, he knows that Poland would be happy and he's spent a good portion of his life trying to make and keep him happy. Not just for his own sake, though that's how it started out, but he knows that if his friend is happy, he'll be happy too. ]

And I'm sure that whoever you like is amazing too and I hope that everything works out for you.

[He rolls his eyes at the the comment about Belarus. She's not that amazing. But it isn't time for him to be trying to make him realize Belarus kind of sucks actually.

This whole situation could be funny if it just wasn't awkward and painful. He can't even laugh about it because if Lithuania knew who he had feelings for, he'd be giving him completely different advice. He wouldn't want to talk about it and if he did, it'd just be turning him down.] They're seriously clueless, though. And like someone who is totally the opposite of amazing. So yeah, whatever. Let's talk about something else. Like your secret.

[ He's actually relieved to be off that topic. He'll try to be perceptive to this in the future though ~~and fail miserably.~~ ]

[Now he can relax and act himself. Good.]

Because you have one and I'm pretty sure I don't. I don't even know where to begin with something like this.

[ He feels like if Poland could confess something so important, that he really has an expectation to reach. Wracking his brain, there's not much that he really thinks would satisfy his friend. He tells him everything about Belarus. His life anymore consists of work or being with Poland in some form or fashion anyway, be it being in the same house or out doing something. Going back further and further in his history it only then hits him that he does have something that's a secret and he sits up straighter because of it. Lithuania can't tell him about those, could he? How would he even react to something as awful as those scars. Best not to even think about it. He nervously tries to brush the whole thing off. ]

Aha, I guess I'm boring then. I really don't have anything good to tell you.

[Poland's not the brightest, but even he can tell when his friend acts differently. Unfortunately he isn't the brightest and so while he knows his friend did think of something, he doesn't realize it's obviously not something he wants to share. So he grins and decides to try to get it out of him.]

Liar! You totally have a secret!

[ He knows Poland is going to just keep pushing this matter until it's not amusing anymore, but that doesn't stop him from trying to say no as much as humanly possibly. Or, in this case, nationly. An uneasy chuckle leaves his lips. ]

Honestly, Poland! What secrets I do have would probably bore you.

I want to know them anyway!

[He's not catching on and keeps on bugging him. Before long he'll be poking him probably.]

[ He thinks of something quickly, just to say that he said something at all, but the lie is so obvious, he kicks himself immediately. ]

Alright, alright; one time I told President Grybauskaitė that I was stuck in traffic and that I'd be late when I was really just getting in an extra hour of sleep! [ God that was lame. ]

[That is a really obvious lie. It has to be obvious if Poland knows it and he deflates a little.] Dude, you could at least come up with a juicy lie if you're going to lie. Uncool.

[ He sighs. There really is no getting past this. He looks at him as seriously as possible, though it stings to deny his friend something. If it was anything else, he'd comply. ]

Please, Poland, I really can't tell you any secret. Honest.

[That makes him a little nervous. What could it be? They've lived together so long that sharing everything is just commonplace. What could he not know? Especially that Lithuania doesn't want him to know. Is it about him? He doesn't know. He really doesn't.

A part of him wants to demand the secret, but he won't. Demanding something that Lithuania obviously does not want to share won't end up going well. It's one thing to demand they spend time together or Lithuania do something for him because he knows Lithuania likes to. But if Lithuania's telling him an honest to god no, he can't push it no matter how much this bothers him. With a shrug, that's all he does to show he won't push him anymore for the secret.

If he did know what it was about, he wouldn't have even badgered him. There really are some things you just don't share.]
