[ though jake hardly seems like the type to go grocery shopping on behalf of the fam, he's here doing the week's food run thanks to the lady of the house. there's a whip cracking in the distance, he's sure. and judging by his near-full basket, jake's gone through most of his mental checklist of what to buy. last on the list was some good ol' milk and cereal. kids under twenty still go for that, right? ]

[ jake's about to take whatever box is more appealing at this point to get it over and done with, but the voice nearby catches his attention. ]

You forget your shopping list?

[Someone's there? ...Right, of course, this is a supermarket. She must have missed him in the cereal panic - that's kind of embarrassing. Rosalia laughs nervously, although it helps takes her mind off her worrying.]

I didn't bring one, actually. I wanted to see what was here.

Having trouble choosing? [ small talk over cereal, the hypest. normally jake wouldn't be the type to speak up, but he could tell she was taking her time. he'd already spotted her during his run through the market, since that hair isn't hard to miss or forget. sobbing. perks of being a merc. ] Figured everyone just went for chocolate and called it a day.

[Okay, that makes her giggle a little. But actually, she remembers seeing commercials for that stuff when she was a kid and there are more than a few cereals like that here...]

I meant the flavor. [ he gives a half-smile when she laughs ] Well, just don't spend your whole day choosing. Last I checked this place wasn't twenty-four hours.

[Rosalia scans the shelves for a second and picks one that doesn't seem like it'll be too bad for her.]

[ he eyes her choice, making sure it isn't out of reach for her. jake's picked out that pink special j cereal. it's pink, girly, healthy lookin, and lady of the haus would appreciate. maybe. not sure about the kids, though. ]

Me? Nah, just shopping for my place.. Just need something for, uh, the kids there. [ man that's still weird to say ]

Oh, okay! I hope they like it. I'm trying to get something for my family, too.
