[School? Mandatory? Seto crinkles up his nose, eyes on the informative slip of paper in his hands. Well, okay, he'll go to school, but--]

[--was that a cat?]

"Ohhh, hey there buddy!"

[This is way more important. He'll head to school after he finishes petting this stray cat, in the middle of the sidewalk, potentially in everyone's way.]

[ cats were definitely more important, this is just the way things go. italy here? he has no real reason to be at school, other than to just check things out. one thing anyone could be sure of though, the fact that this nation can be pretty easily distracted. seeing seto petting that cat got him to slow to a stop ]

Ve~ such a nice cat~ is it yours?

[Seto scoots over to make room for the stranger to pet the cat. There is enough cat for both of them, after all.]

"Nope! I wonder if it's a stray?"

[Are strays even allowed here? He wouldn't know.]

[ wow! what a nice guy, sharing the cat like that. really though, who is italy to pass up this chance? kneeling down he begins to pet the cat as well ]

There seem to be a lot more stray cats around this season, maybe that just means we should try to open our homes to them. [ he's still imagining it, a cat paradise. the glory of sleeping with a herd of cats ]

Where were you headed?

[That sounded like a great idea. But why stop at cats? His old apartment back home hadn't allowed large pets, but judging by this guy's suggestion, anything goes around here.] Hey, I'm up for that!

[As for where he was going...] School, actually! I almost forgot. [He probably would have, if he hadn't been reminded.] How 'bout you?

It seems like a good idea, right? Maybe I'll try moving them I one at a time, I don't think switz would mind. [ there was a moment, perking up and looking on towards the school before smiling at seto ]

I was heading there too! I would've signed up for a teaching position again, but school is letting out for the summer in a couple of weeks... But it still seems fun to go and spend time in the art department.

That's right, I forgot about summer break. [Now that really was good news! Of course, Japanese school schedules are different enough that Seto probably didn't realize how long of a summer break he's getting.]

I wouldn't've guessed you're old enough to be a teacher, though!

I guess most people would think the same just by looking at me, [ he couldn't help that bit of a laugh as he pointed at himself happily ]

[Just over to the side, there's someone hanging out with a few other stray cats. Ana gives an excited wave to the newcomer.]

Cat-friend! It seems that he really likes you!

[Oh! Seto jumps a little in surprise; he didn't realize that someone already had dibs on petting privileges.]


Ah, hello there! Is this your cat?

[Oh no, pet away, friend!（ΦωΦ）

He shakes his head to disagree.]

He's a friend! The same as all of these.

[Fair enough!]

Ah, in that case, good t' meetcha! [It's as much directed to the cat as it is to the human in front of him. Noting the sheer number of cats, he adds] You sure have a ton of friends!

Kousuke-kun!

[ Catching up behind him is his big (little) sister! ]

This is the fourth cat we've seen on the way to school, you can't just stop and pet all of them!

[ But she's happy that he can be himself even in Holly Heights. She crouches down beside him, fondly looking at the kitty he's petting. ]

[No but you don't understand these are all different cats.]

Huh, is that right? [He has to count on his fingers to make sure she's right.] Thought it was more! C'mere, I'll introduce you. [beckons her over.]

[behindsmiles]

Really?

[ Excitedly, she leans over a little to see the kitty in question. ]

Does it have an owner? There's no collar or anything, but I wonder if it got lost somewhere or something... [ If it's a stray, she's pretty sure he'd wanna take it home or something. ]

[Well, he can't exactly introduce her like he would normally, but that doesn't stop him from happily chattering at all the cats they've seen so far.]

Cat, this is my sister, Ayano. Onee-chan, this is cat. [Would it be pushing it to try to make the cat shake hands? Probably. He turns his attention back to Ayano.]

I don't think he's a stray, though. He looks really well taken care of, y'know?

[deceiving_eye]

[Kano didn't really care for the school thing but he deals with it. Though as he's walking towards it he hears a familiar voice and walks over to the source.]

Seto?

[saveshearts]

[Glances up with a grin.]

Oh, hey! Come pet this cat, okay? [It's not even really a question; he gathers the ball of fluff up in his arms to carry it to Kano. The creature doesn't struggle or lash out, but looks grumpy and resigned to its fate.]

[deceiving_eye]

[Kano looks down at the cat that has accepted his life has become this. Before he looks back at Seto's face, if Kido finds them stopping like this it was going to be a beating parting.]

Only you find animals like this...all the time. [He reaches out and pats it's head.] We're going to be late.

[saveshearts]

[Doesn't even deny it.] I'm just lucky, I guess!

[He's right though, about them being late. Seto reluctantly lets the cat flee into the bushes. Although...]

Since when did you care about following the rules anyway?

[deceiving_eye]

Lucky...

[He starts to snicker lightly as he moves to throw and arm around his back then patting at it.]

I don't, of course...but you know Kido is in almost all of our classes...as well as Ayano-nee.

[saveshearts]

[gulp]

Point taken! [Seto falls into step next to him, shooting him a sideways glance.] Is it weird to have Ayano in our grade? Sounds like it'll be weird. [Since up till now, she's always been older than them...]

[deceiving_eye]

Kukuku. [Kano just snickers a little bit before he hears the the question. With a tilt of his head he rubs his neck.] Mn...it's pretty weird. I mean we used to have to look up to her literally.

[saveshearts]

Yeah! Now she's like-- [Holds his hand out at about shoulder height. This is so traumatizing to him.]

She's the same height as Mary, and that's really, really weird.
