It's great! As usual!

[ Eijuns says confidently! There's probably smoke coming out of his nose too, for effect! ~~But this is obviously a lie unless Chris actually meant to say "How's your bunting?"~~ But anyway, tossing that subject of batting aside when he's a pitcher-- ]

Oh... at work! [ There you go, the important topic. ] I can wait! I can definitely wait until you're done with work and then can you catch for me?

I mean... [ Here's Eijun attempting to be more, uh, considerate? ] If that's okay with senpai?

[Yeah, Chris takes that assertion with a grain of salt, but also with a smile. You can't not smile when Sawamura's there and exuding that familiar energy.]

Yes, work. [He taps a finger on one of the countertop menus. He's about to give Eijun a less generous retort but then, to Chris's surprise, the pitcher backs off a little. You never can tell with Sawamura, can you?]

There's nobody here who pitches like you. I guess I could find a little time, but not until I'm done. Did you want to get anything while you wait?

[Somehow it's awkward, trying to serve Sawamura like this, actively seeing what he wants instead of waiting to determine what he needs. Still, it is Chris's job.]

[ Was that a compliment? That was a compliment, right? Eijun can't help but laugh laugh -- because oh man, senpai ~~noticed~~ acknowledged his special pitch!! But then he remembers -- when Chris taps at the menu -- that Chris-senpai is at work. Yup. And he promised to wait. ]

[ That sounded normal. The others had weird names and Eijun wasn't sure he'd like them and he didn't want to get something and then find out he didn't want it and then Chris would say he was being wasteful-- and being wasteful was bad! He might get asked to leave and wait outside.... ]

[Tell yourself that, Sawamura, sure. Totally a compliment, if that's what it takes to get you to have a little chill about catching. Chris can practically see a tail wagging behind Sawamura.]

[ Eijun immediately takes a sip of the drink you just handed him. ]

[Hey now, he absolutely squeezed that fresh earlier today! Chris takes pride in this like he does in anything he works on, including you, Sawamura. How would you feel if someone said you might've been poured from a jug?]
