OPTION ONE: JOY RIDING

[Really, family is considered something important, especially back home where his family is still getting on with life. He's still not sure of how all this works, but the main factor here is that the family he's stuck with isn't exactly his family. It's all a lie. It's as messy one, for sure, and he finds himself all the more tempted on a daily basis. The car at the front of the house matches all the others so it's nothing special, but it's the closest he's come to being able to go for a spin.

Plus, it's easy enough to steal a set of keys from unsuspecting so-called parents that probably are just unused to being a parent as he is to following ridiculous orders. At least, that is, following orders that can actually get through to him when he's got an idea in his head.

The dent of the keys imprints his hand as he clutches them hard. Then, without further adieu, he turns to the poor unfortunate soul he's dragged onto this trip with him, and he grins.]

[Let's just say this isn't exactly his greatest idea...]

OPTION TWO: WHAT'S 2.10 + 0.78 + maths????

[Considering the lack of allowance in this place he's had little choice but to try and land himself some semblance of a part time job. The hours aren't too long, and it's easy enough when he's cleaning tables (though sometimes getting carried away by gushing over some cute girl--sorry for that--or chatting to a regular). The problems start when he's behind the counter taking the orders.]

So that's a ... regular coffee, a sandwich and a cake, right? [A wide grin follows -- nailed it! -- but then:] That's... [He inputs something into the till, it fails on him. The sad fact of the matter is he can't work this out in his head. He reaches for a pen and paper, writing down the cost of each item while trying to get someone's attention to take the next order but...

OPTION THREE: WE DON'T NEED NO EDUCATION

[At the back of the classroom (while class is in session, mind you) there's a rustling of paper. It's not something he brought into class with him, rather more like something he dragged up from the front on the way in when the teacher wasn't looking, but now Nishinoya is trying to make a paper airplane under the table. It's more difficult while trying to shift it so it's hidden from sight, but the sound isn't exactly helping his cause either.

He sticks his tongue out, makes a noise as one side is completed, then starts on the opposite side. All in all it's a fairly decent job.

He scribbles a note on the inside: Yo! Think the teacher here wears a wig? then prepares it for flight.

Hopefully it'll land close to another student and out of sight, but you never ... know...]

[it almost feels weird to be going to a school that hiruma isn't attending. on the one hand he feels kind of nice that he can finally relax a little? but on the other he's... not quite sure what to do. which is why he's seen plastering football fliers all over the school.]

somehow not having the cash on hand to do this seemed to not make it as dynamic, but she did her best to wave around her cash card as she zoomed through each stall and gathered box after box of food. ]

After all this time... A school festival to be proud of... [ there were tears in her eyes, hands clasped together in thanks for this mountain of food before she began to devour--did a grain of rice flick someone in the eye?

( kiyoko is working. she works as the world's quietest cashier at a bookstore. she picked this location because the amount of talking is minimal. it's much like a library in that patrons like to pre-read their books before making their purchases. she studies and works on volleyball-team-related things during slow periods. right now, however, she's restocking returned merchandise that's in mint condition, and putting sale stickers on returned merchandise in marginal condition. and she isn't speaking to you. not even a little. just doing her job. doot doot. )

( eating her flawlessly composed lunch in a quiet spot. she picks up a bite with one hand, sets it down, and works on her latest assignment. in that order. her favorite place to sit during this time is in one of the spacious outdoor areas. it's kind of a strange school, a little run-down and not that... um... productive... but the grounds truly are beautiful.

if you catch her unawares, you may notice that she has a large piece of vinyl cloth and paints; she's making a new sign for the volleyball team. it's not really schoolwork, but she has access to good supplies here, and she has the space she needs. the sign is an all black background and the stenciled letters in white read "fly". )

( mostly, kiyoko is just... watching the volleyballers play volleyball. she's a manager back home, and many of her team are here. she smiles faintly at their best plays, and notes any failures or improvements they can still make for later. she's standing at the sidelines with eyes like a hawk, but rarely speaks. )

[ well... this isn't exactly what nitori expected when he went to bed last night. sure, he'd been really, really exhausted after a rough late night practice, but that doesn't usually mean people just...wake up on someone else's lawn. though he quite possibly freaked out a little bit, checking his phone revealed the names of a good number of his teammates, so he must not be far from home. and besides, if they're there--well, they'll probably know what's going on!

at the moment, though, nitori's wandering around town looking for said teammates. he's got his head down, nose buried in his phone as he walks through the pleasure gate--and ends up running into someone. ]

Oh! [ bouncing back, nitori fumbles for his phone for a second, catches it, and then looks up at said stranger. ] I'm sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going! Please excuse me!

[ come on, really, do you think another fucking sports wouldn't find his way to the sports center? of course not. this sports is a very determined one, having just had his courage rebolstered (in a sort of weird, stilted, vaguely serious) way by sousuke, nitori is back in the pool close to closing time, swimming in a lane by himself as he practices his strokes. he's at it for a long time, but sousuke's words do in fact echo in his head.

so, eventually, he pushes himself up out of the pool, panting, and pulls his goggles up to rest on his head, rubbing the water off of his face. his arms are shaking from all the hard work, and instead of just getting up and walking away, nitori sits with his feet in the pool for a little while, lost in thought. ]
