This is Hato Kenjirou from Genshiken Nidaime, someone who would greatly benefit from a fresh start where no one knows her. [ ok, akaashi figured he was usually pretty good with directions. He could navigate the endless twosts and turns of tokyo without batting an eyelash.

This though, this was new. The street was lined with houses and houses akaashi had never seen before, a street name he doesn't recognize. he just hopes, somehow, je can find his way out of this mess and get back home in one piece. ]

[ see, the thing is, as much as bokuto is good at The Random and Filling His Time, he's simply been in this stupid neighborhood for way too long. and we're talking way too long. he's gotten back into a KIND of schedule - he's usually out of bed before five thirty, running by five forty five, school at seven and then practice after that until kazuki makes him come home to eat dinner or he collapses on the gym floor instead. then it's a lot of trying to get people to start up games that weekend, convinces others to play - it's all a bit too mundane, for him. a bit like he's spinning his wheels.

but he keeps moving - one, because he doesn't know how to stop, and two, because he knows what will be there for him when he does. bokuto's never been much of a thinker, but these last few weeks he's ended up doing a lot of it. thinking, missing, thinking again. he wants his team here and with every passing second, and it's started to settle enough where even sawamura has asked him about it.

which, really, ended up in a lot of nothing. because bokuto's fine. just fine. doesn't matter that it's kind of....lonely. when he's out running. nevermind that kuroo's got kenma and sawamura's got sugawara and oikawa's got iwaizumi. it doesn't matter, because he's fine, and that's why he goes out running like he does, after not really being able to sleep at all like he has been, because he's filled with a lot of extra, anxious energy that he doesn't know where to put.

( because he's not worrying, that would be silly. akaashi is the worrier and bokuto is the act-er and that's just how things always have gone. without akaashi, it just means that he's free, right? free to do whatever? )

The menu wasn't complicated to learn, the facility management are reasonable enough (even though they seem to hate each other...) and Chris likes feeling like he's being useful.

[Pitching to nets is the worst. Nets don't give any feedback. Nets don't lead you or make calls. Nets don't use speed guns or even tell you, really, if you're throwing strikes, balls, or fouls. While normally he'd be glad to have a break from Miyuki-senpai's non-stop snickering and badgering, he's finding now that he misses it.

He also misses not having to collect his own balls. That was annoying the first time. This time, he's just taken all of them. Every baseball. It took a little bit of doing, but now that he's managed it, he's not parting with any of them until they've left his fingertips. Unless you feel like walking in front of him to collect them, but with a 150km/h fastball and mediocre control he wouldn't recommend it.]
