( what a strange place this is. tifa looks around for anything familiar, walking from shop to shop. nothing she sees is anything remotely close to what she's used to at home. she spots the first person who seems like they could be helpful, she walks right up to them and gently taps their shoulder ) Excuse me - have you seen a young girl with a pink ribbon in her hair, by chance?

( b - housing gate )

( TIFA IS ON HER LAWN. JUST. EXPLORING. Looking around, trying out her car, lounging, appearing to be a burglar with how she peers in the windows... that sort of thing. )

[puts down his phone as soon as he's tapped on the shoulder; one look at tifa and makoto knows he's never seen her around before. at her question, he tilts his head to the side and looks to actually be trying to remember if he has seen a girl with such description]

With a pink ribbon in specific...? I haven't really... Does she have a name?

Mm-- she has light brown hair, long, curly at the ends. Usually, she wears a pink dress. ( tifa smiles warmly and EVERYTHING ABOUT HER SCREAMS "MOM" ) -- Marlene. Her name's Marlene. ( she holds out a hand, offering it to him for a shake. ) I'm Tifa.

Makoto.

[he shakes her hand after a moment of hesitation; it seems strange to just up and shake a girl's hand, but this place is full of different customs.]

I don't think I've heard of a Marlene around... but she might have just arrived, like you?

Nice to meet you, Makoto. Thank you for stopping... ( if marlene had arrived, they surely would have arrived together. with denzel, too. her heart sinks a little. ) There's also a boy -- he has light brown hair, kind of floppy... bright eyes. He's quiet. His name is Denzel... Maybe you've seen him instead?

I haven't heard of a Denzel either...

[takes his phone out, and taps on the screen]

Oh - I hadn't thought to look! Neither of them have their own phones at home, so I didn't even consider... ( quickly, tifa pulls hers out of her pocket and begins flipping through the names. she's hopeful, at first, but as she goes down the list and sees neither, her face falls. ) ... No. They're not here... ( and now she's concerned, even more than before. she's their mother, for all intents and purposes. they're her little ones. cloud's not on here either. no one familiar is. her family... but perhaps if cloud isn't here, either, he's at home with them, protecting them in her absence. in spite of the ache in her chest, tifa offers a warm smile to the young man - not much younger than her, by the looks of him - who so kindly went out of his way to help a stranger. )

Uhm... It might not be much, but... They might show up eventually, and if they don't, then it's not so bad. I mean, that is, time moves differently back home than it does here. Our friends and family don't seem to notice we're missing, and it's mostly as if we've never been gone.

[ when he notices the lady staring into his window, dandy can be seen tending to his luscious locks in front of a mirror. his gelling it, combing it, and repeating, with the most pretentious look of 'i know i'm hot but please tell me anyway' spread on his face.

however, the expression falls quite flat when he begins yelling at tifa in embarrassment. ]
